Also Kamil Piros seems to have found his inner scorer or something, guy has already got more goals than he had shots on goal in Ässät with his 22 games played...Yeah, still a bit bitter.

The tempo here in Sweden (SEL) is lower than in SM-Liiga (afaik) so his style of play probably fits better. If you put a guy like that in a higher tempo game where he has less time to act then he's probably not as good. But then again it might just have been a case of the coach over in Finland not knowing how to use Piros to get the most out of him.
No small rinks for now.. because apparently it would make the game too defensive
Well I'm sure the experts they asked have a better understanding of the game than Scotty Bowman who says that the opposite is true. He has actually said that small rinks = more offense. But what does an old fart like that know about hockey, really? I mean he's Canadian for christs sake. God forbid we'd have a league with some forchecking, physical play and north/south hockey.

Why am I not surprised though?

Reason: typo
Yeah it just seemed they just started playing and left the blood there.
Yea it looks like that in the video, but there was a huge puddle of blood behind the goal which they removed. Maybe they didn't bother to do anything about the small drops he left behind when skating off the ice.
Doesn't sound like Loob is implying that swedish clubs don't try against other teams... It more sounds like what many (mostly non-swedish) posters have been saying here for ages; that the swedish league is still top-notch but doesn't mesh well with the style of the other european clubs.
Well all those losses against european team can´t just be flukes.
I know it´s preseason and all but I still think its a sign of weakness that the SEL teams don´t perform better in European trophy.

I don't think it means **** to be honest. The teams say that they wanna win and they take the tournament seriously but they don't.
If they did, they would not let players that would play if it was a SEL game "rest" and instead try new formations. Färjestad has yet to play with a lineup that would be an opening night lineup.
Ok. I shouldn't be joking since it's a serious subject, but I was interested since Finnish Ilta-Sanomat called him something like "promising top player" or whatever, but basically it seems that as a hockey player he's a nobody.
edit. I guess it was just translated from the Expressen article: "en lovande karriär som elithockeyspelare". I don't know about that...

Well, he was quite promising when he was young I guess. He won the Lill-Strimma award in TV-Pucken. Though as far as I know it, it all went downhill after that.
Sorry, if this was already somewhere, but anybody know who the player was? Did he have NHL future? And who was the NHL player with him?
It happened in Övertorneå which is a small town really far north in the outback where few people seldom would go unless you have a connection to area. Two guys from Övertorneå just signed deals with NHL clubs(Omark & Harju) and they're about the same age as Vikevainen. Possibly one of them who is the 'NHL Pro' in the article.
