The New and Improved Agent2421 Player Management thread

Agent 2421 Player Management Thread

This is where we will post Free Agent / Restricted Free Agents signing throughout the year. But, there are some guidelines you must follow..

Free Agents

1.All offers towards UFAs must be sent to me. All offers towards RFAs must be sent to fedro91.

2.You can only resign player with 1 or less years remaining in his deal

ex. of what the offer should look like: Player : Pos : Team: Years : Salary : NTC / NMC (yes - no )

Restricted Free Agents

PLEASE NOTE : OFFER SHEETS CAN BE SIGNED AS OF TEUSDAY THE 29TH OF SEPTEMBER & You get 1 offer per day on a player , if *he* rejects the offer you have to wait 24 hours before offering him a new contract .

Here is the compensations for RFAs

OFFER -- COMPENSATION
• Up to $660,000 - No compensation
• $660,000 to $1 million - One 3rd round draft pick
• $1 to $2 million - One second round pick
• $2 to $3 million - One 1st and one 3rd round pick
• $3 to $4 million - One 1st, one 2nd and one 3rd round pick
• $4 to $5 million - Two 1sts, one 2nd and one 3rd round pick
• Over $5 million - Four 1st round picks

Teams with Restricted Free Agents: those teams whose players sign offer sheets will have the option to match the offer in question or receive compensation (either negotiated or draft picks as per above).

****REMEMBER! ALL RFAs BECOME UFAs OCTOBER 12th IF THEY ARE NOT RE-SIGNED!

Evaluation of Bids:

Bids will be reviewed based on total salary (base * years), ice time, line-mates, contender status, player loyalty, etc. However, annual compensation will be the main factor, followed by player loyalty. When necessary, several Admin team members will be used to evaluate close bidding. A few other notes:
- If one bid is clearly superior (rating at least 20% higher than the next highest bid), the player will sign immediately with that team**
- If only one bid is received within a few weeks the player will sign with that team**
-Team Prestige does not come into play in the bidding!

**IMPORTANT NOTE - if the best offers received for a player are obviously well below legitimate market value (for example, signing Martin Brodeur to a $2 million contract), the league office retains the right to have the player hold out and wait to receive a better offer at another point in the season. This holds true for RFAs as well - a team presenting an offer sheet to another team's RFA does not automatically sign the player in question - they have to feel the offer is a good one first, then the team holding the rights has the choice to match or not. So please keep in mind the qualifying offer a player must have already turned down when considering making an offer (i.e. it should be significantly better than a 10% raise).

All offers are final! No complaints and no harrassing the agents!

SO PLEASE LET THE AGENT KNOW BEFORE YOU MAKE AN OFFER IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Free Agent Season Starts Saturday October 3rd

The Resiging Period Runs All Year long except for New Year's Day and Christmas!

For the Agents:

As for me/fedro resigning / signing players all offers they give to players will be sent to hockeyfan666666 and he will accept it or deny it.

Any Questions please ask. Your feedback is welcomed

PLEASE All Player Negotiations are to be kept Private Between the GM & I.

THERE WILL BE NO POSTING IN THIS THREAD!!!!

I have a question: how long do the agents wait to receive offers before they choose one to accept? I understand we want to finish this up soon but we also have to give all the GMs time to make their offers otherwise it becomes a bit of a fiasco.

As acting commish, I do not recognize these signings yet... Not everyone knew free agency had started. And Bieksa should have at least waited for a few more offers before acting

The Colorado Avalanche have signed D Matt Hunwick to a 3 year deal worth 1.8 per year. One more signing potentially coming.

This is not official just yet. The team that own the rights to Teddy Putcell will have the chance to match the offer. If they chose not to, then Carolina will owe them a 2nd round 2010.

Ps.: The team have 48hour to match the offer, time start now.

Why is this FA season being treated as 1st come/1st served? That screws every teams that doesn't have a GM and every team whose GM can't be online every day of the week. This will lead to an unbalanced league which will make it harder to attract new GMs and harder to keep existing GMs.

I thought you would take 3 days to gather ALL offers then begin the negotiations from there. After today, I can help with this. I don't really have the time to be an assistant but I hate to see this league get messed up with one bad FA season. I would also suggest that the commissioners and agents make offers for the teams that currently don't have agents so we don't have sad sack empty teams - which is what Minnesota was like when I took it over.

I concur. Tkachuk should be patient, he'll get 2M+ from anyone who miss out on Afinogenov, Antropov, etc. Easily.

The thing is that he got a offer and the best offer and he all ready sign dude.
So Keith Tkachuk is of the table and it wasn t the ssame thing that happen to the B. Shanahan cause I offer 1.5 for 1 year and he sign with Nashville for less and for 1 year.

So I m not sure what s happening with the Shanahan signing.

The point is, how do you know it would be the best offer if you don't wait for all offers to come in?

Cause the NHL is starting tommorow and Sebster wants to start the sonner we can.
That mean sedn your offer and we can wait 24h to see if some one else will send a offer and if no one wants him and the contract is worthy enough then he sign no question ask. So if you want a player send your offer and if there really in the ball park then he ll just wait abit. So it s in a way first come first serve since we started a bit late. Next Free agency will be delt better since will have all the time in the world. But this time we don t sorry fellow GM's.

It's a damn shame to ruin any parity in this league just for a handful of games... Just sayin'... It's like reviving a guy with CPR just to invite him to the rooftop so we can push him off the ledge and down 6 floors...

hey I didnt even know tuesday till I came in here and read the rules..

I had a lot of holes on my team to fill out.. new team, had guys like Hudler (my 2nd C flee) and a ton of dime a dozen fringe players - so I gave out my offers . and had to overpay on all of them... the agent said they agreed.. the numbers were pretty fair imo (its not like I got a bargain on any of 'em) but hey if need be im pretty much willing to match what you guys have to offer - including the 1.5 on Shanahan.

Nothing against your signings specifically, but keep in mind this market is also not like the real NHL, I also have 3 top-6 positions to fill, for example, with what *was* (before my earlier trade) 20M+ in cap space. Some of these players can likely get considerably more that in real life.

Anyway, just my point of view, but I think it's easier to have players assigned to agents, this way they are aware of every offers for each of their players and they can keep up the negotiations more easily with parties that look serious about it. The whole East-West agent puts a lot of responsibility on the agents communicating consistently with each other, and when you have one of the agents themselves complaining that there was a higher bid, there's likely a problem.

I agree. Alot of the good FA's were gone within like 2 hrs of FA. I think the agents should have waited a bit longer so some of the others could actually get some time to settle down, and send their offers in.
