Lucic rivalry is just getting going

http://www.torontosun.com/sports/hoc...44001-sun.html

Quote:
BOSTON -- Superman had Lex Luthor. Batman had the Joker. Martin Brodeur has Sean Avery.

For Mike Komisarek, his personal nemesis would be Milan Lucic. And, while Komisarek may have changed addresses from Montreal to Toronto, his feud with the gritty Boston Bruins winger remains as heated as ever. In fact, he predicts there still are many rounds to be fought in this bloody bout.

"I think it is two guys not backing down, competing for every inch of ice, doing whatever it takes for his team to win," Komisarek said. "He's definitely a competitor.

"I think last year was just one chapter in a long book. There will be many more battles like there were last year."
I'm really looking forward to these battles. We have guys that are going to make these games way more interesting. Orr, Komisarek, Beauchemin, Schenn, maybe Rosehill.

Personally, I'd love to see Lucic put on his ass. I like Lucic and all, but the reactions from Bruins fans would be fun to watch.

Personally, I think Beauchemin could do well against Lucic.

He took on Iginla, and looked great. Beauchemin is a beast!

I'm just saying in general, I hope he doesn't get injured again. That was a BAD fight though, he got tossed around a bit.

He injured his shoulder. I think he had to get surgery on it.

The love Lucic gets from Bruins fans gets a bit ridiculous at times. I like Lucic alot but they see him as the face of the franchise. He's a role player, a really good one but they hype he gets is ludacris at times.

I agree. And I'd love to see one of our guys take him down.

There is no benefit for Komisarek to automatically have to match up with a mad dog like Lucic. It is always an injury risk to fight, why even bother. Orr is getting paid to fight, let him deal with that mess.

Beauchemin would probably rough up Lucic bad, but it's a waste of his time too.

ya that is true... although a bunch of guys that i play hockey with are getting sick of hype for him, they feel he takes too many bad penalties and should work on scoring...

although i loved his fight with chris neil from the other day cause he beat the hell out of him

If anyone who has ever blown their shoulder in a fight is here, they also would know what happens. You get beat up, plain and simple.

I think a Beauchemin, Lucic fight would be close. But Beauchemin is strong. A lot stronger than people give him credit for.

Let's hope they can't sign Lucic in the offseason and we find away to re-acquire our picks .

I think Burke's target will be a playmaking Centre next summer.

Marc Savard maybe?

While Kopecky is no Lucic, Beauchemin is a very good fighter and very dangerous because he's left-handed. A left-handed fighter will always have the advantage of fighting a right-hander because he's faught them all his life. Beauchemin literally broke Kopecky's face with those punches. I think Lucic will get a rude awakening if he fights Beauchemin.

The love he gets is no different than what Clark got in Toronto.
...and if Lucic were a Leaf, he'd probably get the same from us.

Been looking this all up on youtube and only found 2 actual fights between them, Lucic clearly won one of them and the other wasn't even really a fight..

i was thinking about it and this combined with the way kessel left boston, will def. hype the bruins leaf rivalry which has been rather lame lately.... of course to make it a true rivalry toronto will have to win a couple of the games and boston has really had our number in the last few years.

I think it might be even more than the Clark-love. I have heard people say that Lucic would destroy anybody on our team in a fight. I mean, come on, not even the true heavyweights destroy everybody they fight.
