The back half of the season for him last year was fairly solid despite the bad start, so I'd say he should have a decent season. He probably won't put up elite numbers again but if faceoffs are worth anything in your league and he's there in the late rounds, get him. He should be good for at least 45 points and a top 5 finish in faceoff wins in the league.

Projected line is: Samsonov-Brind'Amour-LaRose
Thanks!
Faceoffs do count, so I'm leaning towards picking him up. It's between him and Bolland. I really like Bolland and want him to have a good season. Do you think that with FW as a stat Brind'Amour can be worth more than Bolland? Will Brindy see any PP time?

Pick Brindy, he sill see time on the second line and PP time probably we switch our lines a lot. Plus He is GUARRANTEED to be in the top 5 Faceoffs.
Hey guys, just wondering if Joni is going to be good to go for the season opener?
I have him in keeper league and just need to know whether to put him on active or reserve roster for Week 1. Thanks in advance!!!
check again on Wednesday or Thursday.
Canes didn't skate yesterday and today, and last time before that Joni was in yellow no contact jersey.
Next practice is tomorrow. If he is still in yellow jersey by Wednesday, then I'd say his appearance on opening night is questionable.
Typical Staal really. As soon as you bench him he's going to score a hat trick, so I would keep him going. The first two games were bombs for the entire team. I'm sure Staal will get going soon.
Does Gleason play on the top pairing? And is he somewhat designated as the tough guy that has to drop the gloves? I'm looking for in my pool a solid defenceman that will drop the gloves but isn't a liability and will hurt my +/- and may put up the odd point or two...

Right now we really don't have a true top pairing. But he's most definitely part of our top 4 right now. Once Pitkanen is back I'm not sure how our pairings will look. I'm hoping for Pitkanen-Gleason, Corvo-Ward but it may be the other way around with Ward and Gleason. Either way, Gleason should get SOME points this year, especially as he's also being used on the PP, as bad as it is. Could be a decent #7/8 defenseman in a REALLY deep league.

Great thanks for the response! Like I mentioned, I'm mostly looking for a realibale guy who won't cost me on my +/-, chips in with a few points but puts up good penalty minutes. I tihnk Gleason can be that guy for me. Always liked Gleason, wish he was still playing in Ottawa where he was drafted.
usally 3rd but has been on the second line these past few games with cole and now ruutu gone. 2nd pp unit but i think hes also been moved up here. and the is sometimes used on the kill.
Deal with it. It's a part of fantasy hockey. Drop a bench player and pick up a replacement goalie.
Teams often wait to put players on the IR, and when they do, it's often retroactive to a certain date. I've seen players placed on and taken off of the IR in the consecutive days, but it's retroactive for a month.
So why haven't the Caines put Staal on the IR? Are they figuring the 2-4 weeks is closer to the two than the month? As of tomorrow it will be two weeks, any updates on his status? My fantasy team needs his SOG ASAP!
