BTW, thanks for not telling us. Another point of this thread is to try to get you to change your mind

Also, what's the deadline for choosing names (aka expected date)?

Oh Jules, and what's your last name so we can work that in too?
I'll know better a little later today. My due date is the 7th (next Wed)...but we're going to discuss inducing and/or a c-section today. So....it could be this week, or next week!!!

My last name is Howery.....like "Lowery" with an H.. (it's actually a little tough to say)...

Eric Desjardins wife is named Manon. Always found that to be a pretty name. Or name her after briere, Danielle hehe.

For a boy, Gunner or Shjon. Not hockey related, but I always like Ethan.

There arent too many of these names going around anymore for women. I say bring back the old lady names.
Well, in that case there is only one name.... MARY

For it was Mary, Mary, plain as any name can be;
But with propriety, society will say 'Marie'.
But it was Mary, Mary, long before the fashions came:
And there is something there that sounds so fair,
It's a grand old name!

... Maria, or the Americanized version, Mary, had been a staple in our family for decades. There were not only the family members, but there were the extended family and friends... It was to the point that attachments had to be tacked on the names to distinguish the lady who was being spoken about.

We had:

Our Mary
Little Mary (for age, not size)
Comare Mary
Tall Mary
Short Mary
Mary Gigante
Cousin Mary
Mary Down the Street
Etc.
... And the matriarch of the family was, Mom... or Grandmom.

True story.

In that case a boy would has to be Mark... Mark Howery.

Haha..that's pretty good.

Unfortunately guys, we already have names picked out. I think I've posted what they were, but I won't again...don't wanna spoil this thread!!

I will tell you that if we have a boy there is a Flyer name in there, but it's coincidental.

I go to the Dr. at 3 today and may have a better idea on when exactly the little bambino is coming. I will stand by an earlier statement... if I have the baby AT the home opener, and it's a boy... he WILL be named Carter Richard....
if ya have him at the home opener you should name him stanley. limitless possibilities for a baby.

Only 1 month has 28 days, the rest have 30 or 31.

Therefore, 40 weeks = 280 days.

280/30 = 9 and 1/3 months

If it's a boy, I think Ryan is a beautiful name.

Sex aside, I hope your baby us born healthy and happy.

Best wishes from both CK and I.

Edna, Agatha, Shirley, great old names

I saw some of them whilst searching for the first woman police officer:

Alice Stebbins Wells

It is impossible to really pick a good first name without knowing the last name.

My family has a rich tradition of weird as **** names so I'll list a few.

My sisters' names are Addison Anne, Savannah Rose and Morgan Audrey.

My brother is Gordon Wayne. Yes that was intentional and does not fit our last name at all. Gordon Vandersloot? Glad I was the second boy.

Oh and CONGRAT-U-****IN'-LATIONS!

You carry an 8 lbs ball in your lower belly and you tell me if that 2/3rds makes a difference... LOL

So, it's lookin' like I'm having this kid either way on the 7th. I go back to the Doc on Monday, and we'll make the appointment for sure. It looks like it's gonna be a C-section...for various reasons that I won't gross you all out with... lol.

Good news..I'll be able to make the season opener!! HAHAH!

And I like the first female police officer Alice thing... but... also not on our list..

Bummer...

I was thinking in honor of her, and in honor of one of your pastimes, it could have been Alice Shop, as in Alice Shop Barnes or Alice Shop Benedetto.

It sings.

Good times ahead, Jules!

That's telling 'em, girl!

At least the little one will be able to see his/her first Flyers game on opening night! You'll have to have hubby post on here to let us know once the little one arrives.

LMAO!!

Sniper.... I'll warn you now when you eventually do become a proud Papa....

I'm probably one of the most laid back gals you'll meet, and all things considered this has been a very easy pregnancy. That being said.... it will absolutely drain you and you WILL be uncomfortable... so get ready for some "attitude" around 8-9 months from the mom-to-be(sooner if it's a tough pregnancy!!!)

Uhhhhh... could you please tell us what first name does fit well with Vandersloot?

... I was going to make a couple suggestions... but I came up empty... none, Nada, zippo.

Not to say that it is not a good name... just not one that glides off the tongue when matched up with a name. It does seem to work quite well with titles, though... Doctor, Professor, Officer, Judge, even Mr. and Mrs.

She would have twenty-some years to convince her that her name was selected for the beauty of it... and that she is the jewel of their eyes... after that, it is in God's hands.
