it's a waste of 450k cap space for the sens, but its nice to know that the organization does what it can for its players. I can think of a number of teams (leafs, rangers, flyers, sharks) that would never give waived players the chance on re-entry.
word is meaning unsubstantiated rumor.

i would probably remove the sharks from that list, as i completely forgot that they had put mclaren on re-entry last year. The others stand.

I respect an organization being nice, don't get me wrong, but lost cap space is lost cap space, just kind of sucks to see some of it lost when it doesn't have to be.

*shrug*

I'd remove the Leafs as well. As another poster stated several players who were on the Marlies that Burke felt were NHLers were put through waivers at the risk of increasing our cap hit. One notable case was Mark Bell who was indeed picked up by the Rangers. Another example was Staffan Kronwall.

It would be silly for a GM to save a few hundred K in cap space at the expense of his reputation as a "players GM".

Schubert certainly has more to give, but he has little upside. Decent filler pick for anybody who picks him up.

Meh. We're not going to need it really. If he's claimed, we have 1.3 left. At least 1 player will be gone soon, probably a forward... Assuming it's Donovan, we have almost 2mil in cap space. By the deadline, that will be more than enough assuming we're interested in obtaining another piece.

I know it's an unsubstantiated rumor, but I can't see that happening. It means we would be paying Alexander Sulzer $650k to play in the minors, and that's just not something this organization does, or can afford to do.

But hey, stranger things have happened...

Oh I'm sure they could grab a few more dudes off waivers this year.
