Pilote was 39th in the ATD and Horton 46th.
I say Pilote, because he always beat out Horton in the voting even though he was in Chicago and Horton was in Toronto, anchoring the best D in the league.
THN list be damned. Pilote must have been the better player.

Just looking things over, I'm surprised Harvey didn't make an allstar team in 1963. He led all defensemen in scoring by a 30% margin that year. Did his defensive play drop noticeably from the previous year when he won the Norris (despite finishing well back of the defensive scoring leader)? Does anyone have some insight?
That is quite curious! I have no answer for you but I'd like to hear what some others have to say.

The Whatever-We-Ares I haven't really looked will try REALLY hard this time to take players I've never taken before, and hopefully a guy Bill Cook likes:

C Dale Hawerchuk

MacArdand was here last night, did he gave a list to anyone? It would be fantastic if I could pick before going to school (unless he take the very player I want )

Looking at past ATD's, it's pretty amazing to see that guy getting taken in the top-75 draft after draft ... I never was a fan of his, but even at that position it's a deal I guess. I'm happy to see Joe Primeau getting rightfully so picked before him. Only two-three more center to go

BTW, you can still be the Chicago Blackhawks, it's was a very fitting name, especially with Mikita on board.

Take your time, but hurry up! And don't take the player I want, this is the most important rule! There's a lot of great goalies available you know

The Hartford Whalers select Brendan Shanahan (LW) with their 5th round pick.

- 2x First All-Star Team (1994, 2000)
- 1x Second All-Star Team (2002)
- King Clancy (2003)
- 3x Stanley Cup winner (1997, 1998, 2002)

Not who I expected or planned to take, but after the 'too soon' pick of Francis I double-checked on the guys atop my positional lists in previous drafts... and sure enough I'd get another 'way to soon' decry. Of the players I considered, Shanny was taken earliest the last time, so...

YES! I really thought you would go with a LW, and was hoping you would take Shanahan instead of my selection! Not that Shanahan is a bad pick ... but I prefer my guy

When I'll be finish with him and his biography, I don't think he will ever be taken outside of the Top-125 again. A trully underrated left winger, the Detroit Falcons are please to select another Boston Bruins in Hall of Famer Monsieur Roy Conacher

Nop He might have played an odd game or two at another position, but he was a left winger first and foremost.

As good of a value I think Roy Conacher is at this point, I believe he is also the perfect compliment to my All-Star center Milt Schmidt, which sky-rocked his value for me. The two together will be wonder to watch together.

There go the two guys I was hoping to grab; Stanley and Shanahan.

Would have been nice to see Shanny on Lemieux's flank....

Stanley is hugely under-rated. Great defensively and very strong offensively. As long as you can balance him with a speedy partner, he's a good 1st pairing guy.

Have to agree here. Always liked Conacher. I had him as an option of my last pick (Conacher - Gretzky - Kurri anyone?) but when I saw Holecek was still available I just had to grad him. I planned the Murphy pick all the way because I think he compliments Langway, Gretzky and Kurri perfectly.

Isn't it actually your turn? By the way EB picked after me, I assumed he made a trade with MXD at some point that wasn't yet updated into the first post?

Yeah they did, these trade rules make it real awkward to follow along with trades...
