For those complaining about FSN Ohio using the camera at the end of the rink during PPs (and I hate it too), MSG Plus just used it on a PP during the ATL/NJD game, so it's not just them. Thought I saw somebody bring that up either in here or a GDT.

I must be in the minority... I like that camera above and behind the goalie.

I think they should keep that camera and exclusively use a north/south camera situation, so you watch the telecasts like you watch a hockey video game. I think that vantage really helps you see how the play is developing on the ice, as well as cuts down on blind spots in the camera coverage.

Some saavy TV station needs to think about a split screen image. One from the side and one from the end. (I too really like the end on picture). Another option could be the mobile camera over top of the rink, but outside it's plane.

I think its fine for replays as it gives a unique view that picks up nuances and plays you don't see from the standard camera views. My complaint is that during live shots the camera isn't quick enough to keep up with the play or wide enough to view the whole playing area so the puck and play disappear from the screen. If that is corrected then I would have no problem with it.

Agree, if they can't operate it quick enough, it's more a hinderance to the viewer, but if they can follow with the puck, it's a pretty neat vantage point.

This. I know Kings home games have used such a setup, and it was confusing as all hell because the cameras couldn't follow the play at all. It was especially bad on point-to-point passes, because then the camera would be swinging back and forth like it was trying to follow a game of ping-pong.

It's a neat perspective, but needs work.

Another in favor of the endzone cam.

Endzone cam is cool, but the ping-pong effect on point-to-point passes is quite annoying, as stated above, and I don't have faith in any of the FSNohio crew to do it well.

FSO has the blue screen on Time Warner channel 753 again at least for the pregame show. No HD for the LA Kings either. Pro hockey and amatuer TV. If the CBJ wants to grow a fan base this is not the way to do it. Not good business by alienating people that want to watch the CBJ on HD and then can't wait to buy tickets for the live experience.

Anybody getting HD on Time Warner?

During tonight's Flames game, the end of the first period saw a penalty called. Rims said it was going to be called, but instead of FSOhio sticking with it so we could get the call and what not, they went to commercial. It's midway through the intermission and they never did announce who the penalty was on, and I had to look it up in the box score to find out.

They aren't HDing the Flames game. It was scheduled and they nixed it for whatever reason.

The main reason I watch the postgame is to see Hitch's comments (which I always find interesting). They always cut Hitch's Q&A way short... after one recent game, they omitted it altogether.

Dear Postgame show: let's have less Ray Crawford and more Hitch.

Hope they resolve the audio issues before face off. More FSN fun.

Edit: fixed after the first pregame show commercial.

How many times did the announcer (I don't know his name) confuse Johnson for Mason tonight?

And calling a whistle an icing when the PKers cleared the puck?

They also seemed to miss quite a lot of calls (hockey calls).

Did you catch the part where he was talking about Ovechkin and the upcoming game? Went something like this: "Alex Ovechkin already has 1 goal tonight as the Penguins trail the Islanders 1-0 tonight." Meanwhile the Penguins are playing right in front of him.

His name is Jeff Rimer BTW and this is absolutely normal for him.

No HD vs. the Caps on DirecTV. Ugh. Don't know if it's DTV or FSN. Not happy either way.

Same here. 660-1 claims to be HD on the DirecTV guide...but noooo! The channel is blank. It is only on SD on 660 and 661. This has gotten so old.

Same here. Had the same thing happen with the Pens game Friday.

It's annoying enough that all games aren't HD, but when they're listed as being available, I want them, dammit.

I called DirecTV a few minutes ago and they say it's a problem with the broadcasters. Even Center Ice has both Washington's and Columbus' feed are showing a DirecTV slide with music.

Frustrating.

The Caps game was in HD on TimeWarner, but I watched the normal feed when I was scrolling through games.

The HD feed almost gave me a seisure with its subtle pauses in the video feed

Hm. I didn't have that problem.

Surprised I didn't if you did, because, well, TimeWarner sucks.
