Pleks is going to have a lot of pressure this year. With those two as line mates, especially Canmy, he ll be expected to feed then the puck and produce. That line could be either killer or suck depending on Pleks.
That line could mean our season.

I'm jealous, I wish I could attend space camp as well. Any word on if they installed a bench for Gionta to climb on his bunk bed?

With d'Ago on it this is no longer "the line that causes stuff". It's a line that aims to pin the opponent in their zone 5-on-5 and hopefully get some offense going when the forecheck hopefully leads to shot by the two good shooting wingers.

What, don't tell me you liked it better with a grinder at RW?

Positional D + puck movement > size + strength any day. I think this could work brilliantly, actually. It'll be a pairing that retrieves the puck by poke checking rather than outmuscling the opposition, but these two can take on the tough sledding and get the puck going the right way.

Depends if O'Byrne cracks the top six. Then being right-handed I wouldn't be surprised to see him with Hammer, and the remaining two as the third pairing.

Despite his good play how can he crack the top 6 really? You can't bench a vet like Gill or Mara to make place for him imo. Good problem for JM, though..

Sure you can -- Mara was signed to be a #6-7 D, not play with Markov on the first pairing.

The other guy who might get bumped off is Gorges, who had a weak camp, but a weak camp doesn't wipe out a NHL season or two.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some rotation at the bottom of the D roster to begin with. It's also possible we might see the Habs carrying 7 D and 11 forwards, double-shifting top-sixers on the fourth line.

Calm down people, I've been reading Pat Hickey for years and he makes mistakes all the time. Markov will play the left side and Spacek will play the right IF they play together, after-all that's what happened in the game when they played together. I still wouldn't bet a ton of $ on them playing together either, don't forget that Hammer missed such a huge chunk of preseason and is still catching up, so our pairings are probably still in flux as a result.

Having your two best offensive Ds on the same line makes your attack less predictable - any of them can go offence while the other will cover effectively.

Last year Hammrlik had to stop his offensive actions once he realised O'Byrne was not ready to cover him on the D.

Not only does he void pretty much everyone's opinion, but he in fact validates Pierre McGuire's. I don't know which one is worse.

In Gagnon's article he said everybody played with everybody. Looks like Martin pretty much have no idea how to pair his D yet.

And god knows something will happen to Laraque between now and Thursday so we shoulld start the season with 7 D anyway.

Don't you remember that fiasco last year on the PP when Jarvis decided that it would be a good idea to put Markov on the right and Tanguay on the left?

Taken from the Teen Ranch site:

NHL teams such as the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs have utilized our arena for development camps. The Florida Panthers and St. Michael's Majors are our annual guests for their development camps as well.

You can add Montreal to that list now. Guesse Martin really thinks highly of this place and it's impact on his teams.
His Ottawa teams were amongst the biggest powerhouse playoff chockers of all time, and Flrorida never went anywhere under him.

lol, It's actually pretty funny how he's being hailed around this board. Only time will tell.
