Martin whipping them into shape today

From Francois Gagnon's blog at practice this morning. Seems like JM already has his game face on....how refreshing. BTW, Skos reporting to Hamilton it seems.

We will see when the season starts...

Up to now, all I am hearing is Martin this and Martin that, just wait until the first 3 game losing streak, all of you will be like he did not prepare this team enough etc.

Gagnon specifically mentions Latendresse and Kostitsyn as players getting an earful from Martin today. Both players also didn't have great camps/pre-season by all accounts. Let's hope they get their stuff together for Thursday night. We need both of them to have big years to succeed.

That just shouldn't happen, I think most on here realize that Martin is the first career coach we have had since Demers....let's hope the bipolar fans all take their meds this year before logging on their computers...

Thing is, Martin should know just what to do then to stop the loosing streak...

An ex-player wouldn't.

I have no doubt these guys will probably be in the best shape of their lives this season with Martin as coach, the moment Gainey hired Martin I had a picture of some Sens players biking after a game giving some interviews

Go bowling and cross his fingers?

And if Jacques Martin and his small urchin are here to weave tighter bonds within the framework of activities of group, they are there also to involve itself.

That patinates thoroughly in Corrol Ice.
Gotta love babel fish!

I wouldn't go bowling with my fingers crossed, seems risky.

Not sure why babel fish would translate petits gars as small urchin.

The small urchins must cross their small fingers just to fill in the holes in the bowling ball.

Jacques Martin reminds me a bit of Mark Trestman - let's hope the results will be similar too.

As long as we don't have issues scoring from the red zone.

I can't describe the ellation I feel that Martin is whipping them into place. Most of the team looked soo complacent last year and worn down by the end. Having a soft hand proved ineffective last year and this is a young team that needs the structure and discipline to become professionals. It's funny that we hear Martin is being hard in lats and kosty, 2 players who get a lot if slack from hf posters for dogging it. Also the gct Higgins got an earful from Torts and you really see a pattern start to emerge with the youger players work ethic.
Martin, reguardless of his record will make them all better players.

Good to hear I suppose, however being in shape coming out of camp has not been their recent problem. They've benefitted from good early season starts in recent years, it's their mid season sags that has killed them.

If JM can keep the team out of those prolonged troughs, and better able to compete when all teams are in mid season form, I'll be happier.

Its probably the case for big brother Andrei but Latendresse should be given another chance. He did have an excellent camp after all.. oh wait...

Latest rumblings:

Latendresse has an offer to go play in the LNAH with his brother Olivier. It's speculated that he wants to be closer to home and that wants to play with his brother no matter what.
