i don't really follow the leafs or the sens...
can someone fill me in on this: why are the fans booing everytime alfredsson touches the puck? was there an incident between the two teams during reg. season?

Leafs fans just plain don't like Alfie, starting from the playoffs a few years ago when Alf took out Tucker (with a CLEAN hit), took the puck from him and scored.

This season the cause celebre is Alfie mocking Sundin's "stick-throwing incident" (see my avatar for details).

Earlier in the Season Sundin threw his broken stick towards the glass it went up itno the crowd, thusly he was suspended for 1 game.

That 1 game was against ottawa, during the game Alffredson broke his stick and made a throwing motion, which Leaf Fans really didn't like, didn't help matters that the Sens went on to Win 7-1

ever since he's been booed like the Plague in Toronto.

Well... "Krusty" committed the cardinal sin of captaining the Sens. (And that thing on Tucker, and the stick-throwing incident, blah blah blah)

Mostly it's okay. It's all in the rivalry.

You're also forgetting that during the morning skate, Alfie was "practicing" throwing his stick and telling the Toronto media to "go tell Mats I threw mine higher"

and by the way does anyone know what that delay of the game was for?

When the Refs blew the whistle and started talking to both Quinn and Martin?

like WTF?

I thought the Leafs looked flat offensively and defensively tonight (talk about stating the obvious). I didn't see the first period, so maybe I should just say that the Leafs looked lethargic is most capacities for the final two periods.

Ottawa was flying at times tonight and deserve full credit for the win. Hopefully, the Leafs will come out with a much better effort on Saturday night and as well come out with Tucker and Klee in the lineup.

I'm not overtly concerned with the loss, as I personally didn't regard home-ice (in this series anyway) as being something of that much significance. At the same time, if the Leafs won the game, I wouldn't be overtly excited either.

Hopefully the Leafs can pick up their game and truly make this the series it was supposed to be.

That was probably the worst officiating I've ever seen in an NHL play-off game. Through the first two periods, all of the penalties called on both teams were pure crap.

Then in the third, the Leafs pretty much just gave up and started taking stupid penalties.

Does it bother anyone else that Pat Quinn insists on playing Domi so much when they're down by two goals in the most important game of the year?
