Seems he wants a line that can almost play defense, almost hit, and almost create offense, but end up providing frustration instead. The almost line.

ten years ago, that would have been called line 1 through 4

EDIT: I don't know who this woman is, but hire her. She should be a new assistant coach. Hire that woman now.

It seems like Carlyle has been watching the Ducks play, unlike some of us. ^

You may have had a point that putting Ebbett on the third line has merit but at no point did Carlyle say that this would be a third scoring line. Marchant-Ebbett-Artyukhin is not a scoring line.

Pyrotechnics is a great question?

Heres a better one:

Bob will you ask the NHL to allow playing the puck off the net? That would be great ...

Carlyle specifically said we won't have a checking line.

Now tell me, does that line sound like an energy line? Sure doesn't.

We have yet to see them play together and you're already ruling them out.

Seriously? That's a question that I should ask. Being a guy in Canada, who has never been to California.

I'm not ruling them out I'm simply saying that that line cannot be considered a scoring line on paper. If Ebbett makes that line better he makes that line better. But it's a streeeeeeeeeetch for me to believe he suddenly makes that a scoring line.

I love the lady who asked to have the players shoot more and pass less and play more in front of the net. If that doesn't some up your average OC hockey fan I don't know what does.

Thank you caller. It took 45 mins for someone to ask about final cuts.

Finally questions with meat.

Final cuts - waiting to hear about the status of the health of a handful of guys to start the season and depending on that the cuts will be made. Lupul and Nokia missed practice today with back and groin ailments respectively.

Wisniewski's contract - Murray was unwilling to give him a long term deal because of injury concerns and that he doesn't fight as much as he used to.

I think Ebbett's fate is tied to Nokelainen's groin, shudder.

Copy/Paste works wonders.

BTW, I thought Ebbett was useless? Coach Carlyle must be smoking the ganja.
