Playoff Seeds: BOS, 2nd - 104 PTS, MTL, 7th - 93 PTS

------------------------

Jose, Jose, Jose. We're hearing that name out of every mouth that can open. He is our backbone, our go-to guy. As he goes, so will we. But, I wouldn't be expecting him to fall off anywhere. If there's anyone who really, truly, hates the Bruins with a deep-down passion (raise hand now), it could be him. He shone against them before, can he do it again? Or, will his young opponent in Andrew Raycroft, who has never stepped on an NHL sheet of playoff ice, look to outduel him in what could be an incredible goaltending matchup.

------------------------

Good Guys

#38 Bulis - #11 Koivu - #20 Zednik
#26 Dagwood - #71 Ribeiro - #73 Ryder
#94 Perreault - #34 Dowd - #27 Kovalev
#22 Begin - #90 Juneau - #17 Ward

#79 Markov - #52 Rivet
#44 Souray - #5 Quintal
#51 Bouillon - #43 Brisebois

Julien's Pressbox

O'Donnell - Gonchar
Gill - Boynton
McGillis - Slegr

Samsonov - Nylander - Knuble
Axelsson - Rolston - Lapointe
Donato - Zamuner - Grosek

O'Donnell - Gonchar
Gill - Boynton
McGillis - Slegr

O'Connell's Pressbox

------------------------

Career Playoff Stats

Habs Goal Leader: Alexei Kovalev (27)
Habs Assist Leader: Joe Juneau (53)
Habs Points Leader: Joe Juneau (78)
Habs +/- Leader: Saku Koivu (+9)
Habs Players to Watch: Richard Zednik, Jason Ward
Habs Goon: Darren Langdon

Bruins Goal Leader: Martin Lapointe (19)
Bruins Assist Leader: Martin Lapointe (24)
Bruins Points Leader: Martin Lapointe (43)
Bruins +/- Leader: Jiri Slegr (+11)
Bruins Player to Watch: Sergei - Samsonov/Gonchar
Bruins Goon: Doug Dourk

------------------------

A pair of former Rangers, and two teammates who at one team raised the cup together, Niklas Sundstrom and Alex Kovalev will likely find themselves on a line together. If Sundstrom, bothered by an injury, is determined unable to play, look for Yanic Perreault to slide onto a line with Kovalev and the Habs other pre-deadline acquisition, Jim Dowd. It would be interesting to see if Sundstrom and Kovalev can work some of that 1994 magic, that saw them both post very good numbers in the postseason. Regardless, Kovalev has proven to be an excellent playoff performer, posting nearly 70 points in 83 games, and grabbing a +4.

Last Habs - Bruins Game (3-2 OTL)

------------------------

What do we make of our youngsters? Namely Ribeiro and Ryder, how can these guys fare in the postseason. Make no mistake, Ribeiro is not afraid of many, but can his little frame withstand the bigger forwards. In Ribs' case, he has the talent and the desire to win to hold off the Bruins, but can his slower legs give him the edge he'll need? Ryder is a character player, we know that from his run in last year's AHL Playoffs, but after a dream year, can he keep on motoring into the postseason? The answer is of course he can keep given'er! Expect no slowing down from Ribeiro or Ryder, as these guys are important parts of the team, that's something they now and I believe will build off of.

------------------------

30 MINUTES TO GAME TIME! GO BOYS GO! GO HABS OR GO HOME!

Did you count AHL and the Q or something?

Nice thread, by the way. I'm skipping work for this.. I'll probably get fired.

Just a mistake guys, I meant to type Juneau...

I have to miss the game for a lab exam. That totally sucks ass. But when I get home, I better see that montreal has won. Better yet, I hope they're in overtime when I get home, but to do that they'd have to play 1 or 2 full OT periods....

Yep, I really liked that too. Go Habs! I'll definitely be tuning in via radio as ESPN is not showing any game that can interest me, Sharks-Blues?

No doubt that Julien will have the boys fired up, and they will come out of the gates all guns firing. Here's hoping they can grab that first goal and keep the pressure on the teddy bears!!!!!

Habs better be disciplined in this series, Gonchar is going to be a thorn in their side on the PP IMO...
