Stalberg IS on his jersey, but i have seen on the Sportsnet bottomline, Stahlberg. But Sportsnet is a joke, so i will say Stalberg.

My guess is that this thread doesn't end the misspellings

I'm not one to correct someone's spelling, but since that's the point of this thread... spelt is considered one of the ancient grains that is native to parts of eastern europe. Related to common wheat, and tastes pretty good too.

And it's spelled Stalberg.

It never ceases to amaze me how many major media outlets can NOT get his name right. STALBERG, it is NOT hard. Whoever the idiot was that first just threw a random H in there needs to... die or something. Too harsh? I'm not very creative this morning.

A while back I heard something about him changing the spelling of his name. That said, it's on the back of his jersey and on the Leaf website. Maybe they haven't added the new spelling to their computer's spellcheck, and it automatically throws a different spelling because it still thinks Stalberg is incorrect? I don't know.

We should have a proper spelling thread for Leafs players. It's kind of ridiculous at times seeing Tlustly, Kulimen, Ponikarovski, Garbovski, Stahlberg, Scheen, etc.

It is Stalberg but I think a lot of the confusion comes because nhl.com and tsn.ca have both had articles where they spelled it Stahlberg for some reason.

Well, considering yesterday on TSN's NHL preview they pronounced Gustavasson's name seven different ways between them.... it could be a long season spelling/prounication wise.

Dilbert Stoolman. I swear. He just changed it to make it easier for Americans to pronounce.

On this topic, my buddy infuriates me to no end when he spells and pronounces Kaberle, as Karbele (Car-belly).

I would think Grabovski is a little different since it's translated from cryllic to english. Different alphabets. (I think)

Regarding any players name, in this case Stalberg- couldn't the thread starter simply check mapleleafs.com or any number of Star and Sun media articles?
