1st Four Games

Interesting stats/notes from the 1st four games.

1. Montreal/Toronto They did not disappoint what a great game.

2. SJ/Colorado Heatley -3 Thornton -1

3. Wash/Boston Mike Green 0 points Ovechkin 3 points Tim Thomas 4.00 gaa .882 save pct

4. Calg/Vancouver Luongo 4.06 gaa .818 save pct Kiprusoff 3.00 gaa .929 save pct

It only the 1st day but only one really good game and 3 kind of stinkers.

Komisarek's 15 minutes in penalties sure did not help the cause. I think he was in the box for 2 PP goals against.

Toronto got to get used to him taking undisciplined penalties.

I don't know how many times last year i would be screaming at the TV "would you **** off doing that!" to Komi because after he makes a hit, he always gives a good 3-4 crosschecks and punches to the back of the player with the puck nowhere in sight.

How did you manage to watch 2 games at the same time to know that 3 out of 4 were stinkers?

Just curious if you did actually watch any of the other games other then the Mon/Tor game. Cause if you’re basing the quality of the others based solely on stats then maybe you should look at the Mon/Tor stats.

Toskala 3.69 gaa .852 save pct
Price 2.77 gaa .935 save pct.

Not that much different from Kipper vs. Luongo. I will give you that the Mon/Tor game was good because it was so close but the Cal/Van game was just as good with the late surge by the Canucks and Kipper stonewalling them. I did not see the other 2 games so I cannot comment but I am sure the Washington and Colorado fans will say they were far from stinkers.

I wouldn't say the VAN/CGY game was a stinker. At least VAN came back and made a game out of it.

I love Backstrom, great kid, but Ovechkin is a marvel.

You'd be suprised how quickly a game can go by when you can fast forward the commericals and in between periods.

Yes i know how the TV works, but to say that those other game were stinkers your either a homer fan of the Habs or you didn't watch the other games.

What? Are Ovechkin slurpers so insecure that they can't even stand seeing other players on the Caps getting credit?

CI only had Montreal Vs. Toronto and Vancouver Vs. Calgary last night. Would of liked to see the other games. The best game of the night was Toronto Vs. Montreal IMO.

I'm hardly a slurper.

I don't have a vested interest either way.

Though I'm guessing you're a hater as most Pens fans are.

Ovechkin was massive in that game. I just find it odd to focus on Backstrom's 3 assists.

Without a doubt I'm not HABS FANS at all.

Wash 4-0 before Boston scored.

Colorado lead this game 3-1 and 3-2 and lastly 5-2

Calgary lead this game 3-0 and 4-1 before Vancouver even came alive. The 3rd period was pretty good.

This is very interesting, apparently yooper wings fan definition of a “stinker game”:
Any game where one team leads by more then 1 goal for any length of time. Regardless of one teams defensive play, goaltenders acrobatic saves or end to end rushes. Even if trailing team stages comeback, if said comeback is unsuccessful game will still be considered “stinker” Also any game where underdog team handily beats favored team if goal differential is more then the 1 goal limit game shall be "stinker” quality

Backstrom was just as impressive.

To me atleast.

And I have to admit I said he was overrated when he came into the NHL, and that he would never be an elite player. He's on his way there.
