PP QB To MTL

There's no official status update on Andrei Markov, but he limped off the ice during yesterday's game against the Leafs.

If he's out for more than a month, it's possible Gainey may try and acquire a replacement defenseman to quarterback the powerplay.

Subban and Weber may be able to contribute if called up, but I doubt they could fully replace Markov. The only FA defenseman even remotely close is Bergeron.

Randy Jones for Kostitsyn. If Markov is out for more then two month.

JVR Giroux Kostitsyn

Yes, a salary dump.

Nobody wants Randy Jones. He has 0 value. Or negative value.

to Hamilton:
a phone call and a bus ticket

to Montreal:
Yannick Weber

we also still have Spacek and Hamrlik, neither of whom are slouches with the puck

this injury blows giant monkey testes, but Montreal will be fine.

Who says Jones can replace A.Markov? I mean do you actually think a player that can actually replace A.Markov will be on the market? lol

Some Habs fans are just

You can always trade with the Leafs.

yeah, jones isn't likely to be traded. and if he does get dealt, it's probably just for a straight pick (i'm guessing 6th or 7th).

I thought Habs needed a band aid? I said Jones is available. You do not like it? Fine.

There are maybe 5 players in the NHL that can replace A.Markov. Thats understood.

Asking for suspended Sergei Kostitsyn in return is too much?

Good luck.

i dunno if we need on (yet)

we got Spacek and Mara who both are power play experienced.

Pk Subban /Webber can fill the role for the next few months .

this year Montreal is alright , its got options .

Yannick Weber > Randy Jones

This thread's purpose is for reasonable trade offers, not offers that the Canadiens would clearly not accept. Do you see any purpose to making that offer? Did you really think that would be a good offer?

Asking for anything more than nothing is too much.

Jones has negative value at full salary. Bring him up through re-entry and the Habs take him and send a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Well it didn't take Bergeron long to gain some interest if the Habs do want to bring him in. I doubt they trade for anyone. You can't just replace a guy like Markov through a trade without giving up a lot and that just doesn't make sense to do. They don't need to replace him, they just need someone to fill in his spot and Weber should be fine as the 7th once Hamrlik comes back. Although Spacek, who I've seen play for us in Buffalo for the past three seasons isn't exactly a PP QB, he has a great shot so he'll help points-wise with Markov out. I thought Gorges looked good last night and when Hamrlik comes back he should do well too. I don't know if either of them really qualifies as a PP QB but Montreal should be fine.

no thanks. Let Jones rot in AHL then. He was waived anyway.

Kostitsyn has pretty much on his way to do great things in KHL.

I won't argue that Jones has negative value. He absolutely does.

Weber who? lol

Habs are looking for a fair deal to replace A.Markov? Nice.

By the way for every Hab fan who is about to attack me and call me names. This is not a fair deal.

Then why do you persist in arguing that you should be getting something decent back or he can rot away in the A?

I'm confused, are you saying Jones is worth more or less than a 7th round pick?

IF Jones is dealt, he's not bringing back anything of value (even if that asset is a scary one like SKost). We'd be lucky to get anything for him.

No one is going to give picks for Jones.

Like I said.. Sergei has no value imo. He refused to go to the AHL. No one will give him NHL roster spot. He is pretty much on his way to Europe or KHL. This is my opinion and I can be wrong.

If he has no value, then why do you want him? Because he's better than Randy Jones. Ergo, he has more value than someone. Meaning he has some value.
