The few Canadians in the league this year are here: http://www.tsn.ca/nfl/feature/?id=1190

The other list shows previous Canadians like Vanderjagt (no longer near the NFL), and Mich. State Spartans Tony Mandarich drafted second in the league during his draft year, and was a colossal failure after that.

(As a Spartans fan myself, I had such high hopes for him in the NFL)

Mandarich was all roided up. Even he admitted it recently.

I remember reading about that recently. Not surprising at all.

Disturbing night in the NHL thus far...

We have Ovechkin hurt in a knee on knee (deliberate or not is up for debate):

We also have Vokoun getting hurt from his own teammate (Ballard):

Flyers fired their head coach (John Stevens) today. No official replacement yet, but TSN is reporting that the Flyers have permission from Carolina to talk with Peter Laviolette to take over, and be in place by Saturday.

When will Philly learn it not the coaches fault!

They always do this, Same with the goalies!

The problems with that organization go deeper

Really good interview with Filatov about the KHL fiasco, Hitch, and other topics.

What question surprised you the most?

"I had interviews with many NHL clubs. But I was surprised when I came into Toronto's office. Their general manager was sitting there. I thought that some regular questions [would be asked]. But he tossed a candy on the table and said ‘If you take it you will be a millionaire, the best hockey player in the world, would win five Stanley Cups and two Olympics. But when you're 30 you will most likely have an accident. If you don't take it, you will live until you're 100, but would be an average player.'"

And what did you do?

"I took the candy..."

And went to that Phoenix interview from this odd one in Toronto?

"I liked Gretzky's questions better."
What the ????

Sounds like the Matrix

Just like our Hossa deal (also Pronger, and Luongo) the NHL has decided to look into Savard's 7 year extension with the Boston Bruins. The deal takes him to 40, I believe.

It's really nice seeing Nashville go down last night to re-gain the 5 point lead in the division with a game in hand.

Am I the only one shocked that we'll be done with Nashville in less than 2 weeks? The schedule has a lack of a division-heavy ending like it normally had the previous several years.

I think the Olympics have something to do with it

Preds are now tied with Hawks atop the Central with 43 pts , Good news is we have played 3 less games

Zetterberg down and out after a hit from his would-be Olympian couterpart Mattias Ohlund.

Not gonna lie. Part of me enjoys watching the Wings face the very same circumstances that the other 29 teams have for the past few years.

Same. That hit kinda did remind me of the Mitchell hit earlier this year. Hard, clean hockey hit.

Zetterberg's out for at least 2 weeks, which means we'll be facing the Wings twice without him.

Well after the laser pointer incident vs Calgary

Burrows is now claiming Auger vowed to get him and some bad calls (Several made against Preds seem to be forgotten) Burrows and Canuck fans believe the league is rigged

1st call on Burrows was made because of his reputation as a diver
2nd call was bad interference call that has been called before

There is no evidance for any of this aside from Burrows word and a pregame skate talk between Burrows and Auger. (I have seen players and Refs talk many times before games)

Dont try to offer an opinon other then a vast NHL conspiracy or else Canuck fans come down on you as an idiot , homer , etc and bring up the Keith hair pulling as a reason you cant have an opinion

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?t=724235

There is the thread from the main board

Basically me and a Shark fan getting berated by Canuck fans for many pages. After 1,000 they ask for my age and then call me a 10 year old and the one of them implies because I am in US i dont have a right to an opinion about the situation

Pretty funny stuff
