Gord Miller needs to retire.

My god, this guy has got to be the worst Canadian NHL broadcaster right now easily.

He is just so terrible, I thought he couldn't top the blunders he made in the Chicago game but of course 5 seconds into the Detroit game he drops this.

"Nik Lidstrom is three points away from 1000 and that would make him the first ever Swede to reach that milestone."

Oh really Gord? You sure about that? Because I can think of another Swede who had a thousand points you might have heard of him..Mats something...Mats Naslund? No that's right it was Mats Sundin... a guy who played in Toronto for 13 years or so... a guy who JUST retired two days ago...ring a bell by any chance?

Miller is one of the better broadcasters in the NHL. Shouldn't you be filling out a betting slip somewhere?

There was a video he made about young players in the league and he said that Bailey barely plays and is a frequent healthy scratch. Clearly he doesn't look at his notes because Bailey played every game after he was injured the first few games of the season.

I'm not a big fan of this guy at all.

i disagree completely, gord miller is my favorite announcer around right now. He shows no biases when announcing unlike a lot of other tsn or cbc announcers

We just spent last night being forced (painfully) to listen to Mark Lee and Kevin Weekes and you're going to complain about Gord Miller?

Mark Lee has really grown on me, he's awesome.

Miller just doesn't have "it". He isn't very exciting and his voice just isn't epic enough.

I hate hate HATE how Miller tries to growl out "SCOOOOOOOAAAAAWWWWWRS" when a goal happens. Your voice squeaks and breaks, deal with it, don't over emphasize your goal call to try and make sure your voice is manly. Ugh.

And as much as I dislike him, he did give me the "Magic Mittens" call, which was epic on its own right. So for that, I thank you Miller. A little w00t w00t for you.

Gord and Pierre are both fine, let's go back to bashing Crosby, that's a more interesting thread.

As an American I don't often get a chance to watch Gord but when I do (World Juniors for instance) he does a fine job. I don't get why people have such beef with these broadcasters. They all do a very good job. Except Jack Edwards. His level of enthusiasm is dangerously close to that of Rogers SportsNet Jays broadcaster Jamie Campbell. You don't need to yell for every play.

He said Swedish defenceman didn't he? On my TV he did. Then he talked about Sundin being the all time leading Swedish player and McGuire chimed in with a mandatory Borje Salming plug.

He said Swedish defenceman and then immediately mentioned Mats Sundin retiring as the number 1...
