I've been involved in office hockey pools and pools with buds for about 15 years now. The only time I picked heavy on the Habs they lost to the B's in 4 straight I think ('91).
As a rule, I now only allow myself to pick one token Hab.
I just finished my office pool a couple of hours ago. 10 guys picking 12 players each. As always, I got last pick of course...
So, in the final round I picked.........Alex Kovalev - time to shine BABY !
Even tho' I only have 1 Hab, they can still win the cup and me my pool. I leaned heavily on Philly(5), Dallas(3) and Ottawa(3).
Based on this, here's what I expect to happen in the east (it's all very scientific).
TB over NYI
PHI over NJ
Ott over TOR
MTL over BOs
MTL over TB
PHI over OTT
MTL over PHI
...and Dallas wins the west.
I love hockey pools.
Anybody else involved in any pools?
Anybody pick the Habs?
One guy in our pool picked 4 Habs! If I don't win, I hope he does.
