We need Cote, Asham and TKO in the lineup tonight, to kick some devil butts.
I agree and I hope at the least they bring Asham in for Powe. Tonight's the REAL start of the season for 2009-10 New Look Flyers as it's a divisional rivalry, and a historically bitter one at that. Someone's gonna get jacked up!
Nice thought, but Clarkson's game lends itself to getting into scraps for screwing with an opposing goalie. It's just the way he plays.
He's a little better than that, but I know what you're saying.
Lemaire promoted Clarkson to the 1st powerplay unit the last preseason game. His job is to park in front of the goalie, which basically makes it a 4v3 game for PZL and Martin. I had been SCREAMING for this strategy all last year, but Sutter would never screen the goalie on the PP. I think the Devils powerplay will be better this year for this reason alone.
Heres hoping John Stevens wakes the **** up and gives Giroux more ice time. K thanks Go Flyers Go
I said that during the ending stretch of last year, and during the playoffs.. Giroux had like 1/5 the time Carter did, and Carter did, well to be honest he didn't do anything productive in the playoffs.

You don't have to sell him to me. I love the kid. And in front of the net is where he spent the majority of his time in junior - taking a ton of abuse, but never backing down. And driving opposing goalies insane.
Not sure how well that approach is going to work with Emery in net though...
Cote is nothing but a punching bag, he should join Jones down on the farm
That tone will change if you see Andrew Peters flatten Richards or something, then we need that punching bag to answer the bell. Carcillo or Lappy can't do much, Peters will ragdoll them over the boards.
Cote got a role to play, I know it sucks to watch him lose fights, but he's there to protect important players.

I hate this mentality. There's so many flaws with it.

Giroux also wasn't injured.

So Emery is playing back to back games? If so, good, because I don't feel too confident with Backlund in net. It's only game #2, so fatigue shouldn't be much of a problem.

Well Carter seperated his shoulder in like game 1 or 2

Tell me this doesnt flatten you. First the guy goes and takes out your star player. Then your fighter goes and gets destroyed. You dont tell me that hurts us more then helps us?
