I don't understand why Kilger didn't pan out in Montreal. A big boy who can hit from time to time. Even score a goal or two. He just couldn't put it all together. We'll watch him closely in Toronto. It will be just our luck that he turns out to be another John LeClair. Hopefully Higgins will get a chance next year. Hopefully he can make it work in his first year. Montreal will have a few players who won't be back next season...if there is a season.

Dumb. I expect more from THN. Here's another gem: St. Louis over San Jose. Why? "The Sharks have overachieved, the Blues underachieved." If the Blues have played lousy all year and the Sharks have played well as a team, does it not stand to reason that the Sharks have the edge going into the playoffs, where team play is crucial? Are things going to revert to their "normal" state overnight? All this guy does is look at the teams on paper. If this hack actually got paid to write this, THN needs to re-evaluate its system for hiring writers. Never mind the ridiculous mixed metaphor the guy uses when he says the Avs can "tap into an extra gear." Priceless.

I wonder if Kilger ended up anywhere else but T.O., if that still would of been considered the case!
We wasted Chad Kilger. Had he been given a defined role the way that most players are, he would've been fine (3rd line LW, or 4th line Center). But we never did that. His versatility was as much a cause of his demise here as was his "inconsistency". I still never understood why we couldn't work out a third line (late last year and early this year) of Bulis/Kilger/Sundstrom, or something like that.
I'm surprised Jacques Lemaire didn't grab him. But it was a good pick by the Leafs. If they go deep, and have injuries, a guy like Kilger can work as a plug for some pretty big holes.

Give me a break. Kilger was given every opportunity to stick in Montreal. In fact, he was given more opportunities in Montreal than anywhere else he played. Due to a lack of depth with the team in recent years he was allowed to fill various roles, and he was given many chances over long stretches. I like Kilger, but he has wasted too many opportunities to be given an important role on this team. It would drive me crazy when he would have a game where he would use his speed and hit opposing players and make a difference on the ice, only to follow that up with numerous games where he was completely invisible. He might be a good guy, but he's wasting his chances.
Kilger was, by his consistency and hard work, the best player on the team. He was extremely skilled but the team didn't play him. He was the best player on the team and was a great leader who could have been captain without this clown who had the cancer. Now that he's in Toronto, people will ask themselves " Why did we let him go? "

I think this metaphor refers to racing does it not? It might not apply great to hockey, however if he is referring to the Av's need to come up big in "clutch" situations things might be different. (wow that's a bad pun, oh well it is the first day of the playoffs after all...)

Your right we no nothing about hockey
He was given many chances, in fact more than enough

Well, as a Habs fan stuck here in Leafs land I've been monitoring the situation closely. So far the Leafs have stuck "The Chad " behind some goofs named Sundin and Francis. Word on "the street" is they're really saving "The Chad" as their secret playoff weapon. Ottawa will be totally unprepared for the release of the "Chad Bomb" and the Leafs will defeat them once again.
It will all be pointless as the Habs destroy all !!!
