Josh's breakout year was last year (not that he'll get worse, but not THAT much better), Josh has no shot, josh is only a decent play maker, Josh has limited offensive upside, Josh is reliable, I like Josh... but Josh is no Markov... Josh is good for 8 goals and 20 Assists... ps: my name is Josh too (teehee)

Gorges gets better with every game he plays. He's a really cerebral player that learns from every mistake he makes and every new situation he sees. I guess it goes without saying that I'm a huge fan seeing how I gave up the awesome Odelein username to give Josh props last season.

Gorges is one of the most underrated players in the entire game. I believe he's just as good as Hamrlik defensively.

How often do you watch a game and go "DAMNIT another Gorges mistake"? Not often at all. The best quality of a defensive defenseman is that he does not do many mistakes, and that's Gorges.

Honestly between him and Komisarek there's no question I would choose Gorges. Instead of cross checking someone in the face and missing the puck, he'll actually come out with the puck.

What did I tell you about drinking and posting Dave?

That's pretty impressive considering that Markov will be back before the season ends. Which means Captain Kelowna will have to jump over Spacek and Hamrlik on the defense rankings to reach your prediction.

I like Gorges as much as anyone. But to expect him to be anything more than a quality top 4 defenseman is IMO just setting yourself up for disappointment.

this happens every year. Gorges is great in the 1st half but he eventually wears down. Ideally, you want him as a #4 or #5 guy so he doesnt tail off later in the year.

But I guess we have no choice at this point but to elevate his role again.

If O'byrne can skate backwards, without falling this year, it will be a huge improvement.

As far as I'm concerned, he's proven himself already. But if he's got more to show, than that would be excellent.

It's hard to remember he's so young...

He's a great support player. Him for Rivet straight up would've been awesome... And we got Pacioretty also. Amazing!

So much for O'Byrne. He's hurt...

Very sad, because he was having one hell of a start.

Gorges is great, but...

He's a great third to sixth defenceman. He went to pieces last year when he had to play against top lines and provide offence. His offence looks better this year, but he only has so much size and talent.

He plays to the full extent of his ability. Asking him to do more does not work well.

Gorges on pace for 82 points

Just wanted to point out to everyone that Josh Gorges is on pace for 82 points, 41 goals and 41 assists. I don't see him reaching 82 points but I could definitely see high 70's

Metropolit is also on his way for 82 points, Moen for 82 goals but no assists, same with Gionta.

This season looks like it's gonna turn out pretty good!!

P.S. Book Carey for 82 wins!!

Good news about Gorges, but by that logic he'll unfortunately be injured within the next 5 games

(anti-jinxing statement: I am not responsible for anything that happens within the next 5 games)

No, based on his last game, and extrapolating, he is on pace for 1 goal and 1 assist.

Like they say, when you do extrapolation, you make an extra out of Paul and Leyton.
