Your Call.

If it were up to you, who would you start on Tuesday vs. the Senators?

I'd go with Gustavsson. I think (notice I said think, not know) he is a better goalie already. And Toskala hasn't really given me any reason to believe he will be ready this time, because he wasn't ready last night.

Of course, you have to keep in mind that Goose is a rookie and make sure you do what you can to ease him in and not hinder his development.

But at the same time he's gotta start sometime, right?

An explanation of your choice would be fantastic.

edit - This is not intended to start a flame war or as a bash Toskala thread. Just curious as to what the fans are thinking/feeling.

2nd edit - at this point it is 17-0 in favour of Goose. While I thought Goose would get more votes, I didn't think it would be quite a slaughter.

Should make this into a poll. EDIT - Nice work

My vote is yes. The team seemed to play different with him in net. Kind of like they were less afraid.

Gustavsson easily. If Toskala starts i hope we lose again, until Wilson gets the ****ing picture that Toskala sucks and this team is going nowhere again with him in net.

We won the 3rd period 3-0 with Gusty in net... Keep it rolling.

SHOULD be Gustavsson...WILL be Toskala...

RW + Toskala = Place in heart, can let in 27 goals in a game, but will start the next game..

I'd go with the Monster. That will give Toskala a week between games to work with Alaire on getting him higher in the crease.

gustavsson, even though he allowed 3 goals, was much much better than toskala, there is no doubt about that, he made a couple of impressive saves.

what we need now is the goalie to provide us, and especially the skaters on the ice, with some confidence in the net. as we have seen yesterday - so many capitals' plays started off with a great save on their end. it's much easier for the offense to get going knowing they can take some gambles because they have a steady guy watching the net

for leafs over the first 4 quaters of the season, almost every puck that went through the defense was a scare
toskala - yesterday 5/8 - this is a joke yet again

gustavsson is gonna be a great goalie for us this year.. 0.961 in the playoffs of swedish league simply cannot be a fluke

btw: i work for the finnish company, if toskala starts again, i'm quitting my job

I would use Johny Mac and gusto. Let Toskala find out what is wrong.

Start Gustavsson, and pray he does well. And by doing so, it would send a strong message to Toskalaugh. If Jonas has troubles as well, then I think Joey Mac deserves a chance

If Toskala starts I predict jeers the 1st time he touches the puck....he's finished here, IMO.

Gustavsson.

Toskala needs to be shown that the threat to his career as a starting goaltender in this league is real, and that bad play has consequences more generally.

Then put him back in the following game, unless Gustavsson completely steals the show.

That said, our defense has to simplify their game positionally big time.

I know it's not the popular choice, but I think Toskala has to start this game.

If there is any chance of salvaging any confidence this guy has, you start him vs Ottawa and he is brilliant.

Now, if he starts and is bad.. I think he then loses the #1 spot to Monster.

Too bad it's not a road game.....I don't think the home crowd will give him a chance.

Jonas no question. Hell, at this point MacDonald deserves it more then Toskala. I'm not sure why anyone, and their few and far between, would still stick up for Vesa when he has done nothing but play bad. If he was making less money he would've been our backup by now.

I have to agree. Anything that goes in we'll hear "Well good goalies make those big saves". He hasn't been good, but I get the impression every average NHL goalie is making 40 stops a night and never allowing a goal.

Vesa certainly hasn't done anything to EARN the start. Personally I think the only reason Gus doesn't get the start is because they're treating him with kid gloves, don't want to "throw him to the wolves" as they say.
