I expected this. Kevin O has been saying the past few days that the Amerks would be getting Taffe, Repik and Duco. And there's no way the Panthers were going with only 12 forwards.

If I said I was expecting this, I'd be lying.

If I said I was disappointed, I would also be lying.

I believe he was 5th or something last season in faceoff %. Finally we have a specialist in the circle.

With Duco and Repik being sent down, now we have:

Booth Weiss Horton
Stillman Reinprecht Frolik
Olesz Campbell Dvorak
Kreps Moore Matthias?

That's not right, is it? Am I forgetting someone?

Could Campbell be moving to the wing somewhere? The good thing about the Moore signing is that he's a baller in the faceoff circle and I feel like this gives DeBoer more wiggle room in juggling line combinations.

We now have Weiss, Reinprecht, Campbell, Kreps, Matthias, and Moore as potential centers taking faceooffs. Even Olesz, Frolik, and Horton can take faceoffs in a pinch.

Great signing imo, really bolsters our bottom six. Sexton doing a nice job.

Well Kreps is playing wing now anyway with matthias at center. If it was me, I'd switch Campbell with Moore, have either Campbell or Olesz on the 3rd line, then the other plays with Matthias and Kreps. Moore should be on the 3rd line, he produced well last season.

This doesn't make sense to me. Wasn't Kreps our top faceoff guy last season?

One of them. I thought Campbell was the top guy, but I could be wrong. Anyway, Kreps can still take faceoffs. That makes me believe even more though that Kreps won't be here next season. They want to get Matthias adjusted at center...not a good sign for Kreps, unless he lights it up.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw this. I like the move.

I think it's a good signing

Not sure what to expect from him though

He seemed to have a "break out" season last year in Toronto, but only got 4 pts in 18 games in Buffalo

If it's true that he broke his wrist right after he got traded, then that would explain a lot though.

He's a pretty solid 3rd liner at least. He's very smart, good 2-ways, decent playmaker.

Good move. Gotta wonder what we're going to do with Kreps now.

Nice to have some depth. Can't get hurt with a one year contract.

I doubt anything. I would think we are going to have injuries and will benefit from some of this depth.

I like this signing quite a bit, so long as he shows up like he did in TO last season.

I'm thinking he may center the CPR line and they'll maybe move Olesz to the 4th to play with Kreps and Mattias.

Soupy-Moore-Dvo
Matthias-Kreps-Olesz?

Dunno, but that makes the most sense so far as utilizing out best centermen.

First of all, let me gloat a bit. I posted a good while back that this guy was still available, and even thought about posting today once again, asking if anyone had picked him up.

Let me tell you what you're going to get with Dominic Moore. I was supporting the Leafs when he got picked up, essentially dumped by...Minnesota? Not sure if it was them, not sure how to spell that state's name anyway.

Everybody whined and complained on the Leafs forum. Whined and howled. And then Dominic Moore started playing and shut everyone up. The complaints turned to raves.

Here is a guy who always gives 100%. He is fast. He skates well. He passes very well. He's responsible defensively. He's not a big hitter by any stretch of the imagination, but he does take the body surprisingly well.

I predict he's going to become a favorite in Florida. The guy never quit once--let me repeat that, not ONCE--the entire time I watched him play. Jason Blake scored a ton of goals last time because he played on Dominic Moore's line. Without Dominic, he's going to have a very hard time.

This is a very solid addition to this team. There are very few hockey players out there that we could get that I would rave about. Dom Moore is one of them. He was good, and made a difference, every game I watched him play. He's going to fit in well with PDB's system.

I just have time for one more grin:

Definitely, not a fix to our problem in the top 6, but it keeps repik in the AHL which I think will be beneficial to his development, and it gives us a good faceoff guy to hopefully establish better puck possession with the bottom 6. I'd say he's around Reinprecht in terms of skill but he has only had one 40 point year vs. Reiprecht's 4.

Olesz-Moore-Dvorak
Campbell-Kreps-Matthias
?
