The Avs announcers are far more annoying.

But the team looks pretty damn good. Scary, actually.

I keep forgetting that other people watch hockey with the volume turned on.

This is a pretty weak argument going here, you don't have to like Colorado but if your going as far as saying the music isn't to your liking, thats going too far. The music is different from anyone else in the league, and if I am not mistaken, they brought in the idea of playing Star Wars after a win, which the Vancouver Canucks imitated perfectly!

I think Detroit needs some new music though .

You are mistaken. Teams have done that for ages (well, since sometime shortly after 1977 anyway).

So much for those "Avs are crumbling, Stars in 4" predictions, huh?

I still expect to see a DET/COL WCF.

Its ridiculous that every time there's a stoppage in play, I feel the urge to bust out some glowsticks, take some ex, and make out with the chick closest to me.

GM Place has awesome music.

Uhm, no one in their right mind would pick Dallas over Colorado in a sweep, hell, no one should even pick Dallas. And yes, DET/COL will likely be the WCF.. winner wins all.

What a negative Nancy. Don't you have any faith in your boy Modano?

I'm not negative nor pessimistic, I honestly don't expect the Stars to win more then 1, maybe 2 games. And no, why should I have faith in Modano after his dismal season?

Say what you will about Colorado's choice of music (as if you have any room to talk, your goal song being Ole Ole) but Colorado has the best atmosphere in the playoffs so far, something sorely lacking in their opponents arena, at least last year vs. the Oilers. Too bad Edmonton didn't make it, because we would show everyone where the best atmosphere is.

If those two play each other, I'll put my money that the eventual Cup Winner will be from the East.

Personally I don't like the it(techno trance is one of the most annoying sounds on the planet, and I say sounds because it isn't music). However, it's the pump-up stuff arenas play to get the crowds excited. Before it used to be Cotton Eyed Joe and other assorted songs. If the Avs fans like it, why not? It's their arena.
I reeeaaally wish the Canucks would change their goal song. I'm getting annoyed by it. But hey, nice to see some classic stuff like Rock & Roll Part 2 for the Joe Louis Arena.

Uh, you have to be kidding me.

Best atmosphere ? That would have to be a tie between the ACC and GM Place.

The crowd sang the anthem.

Everybody had towel power.

The place was just L O U D.

When the heck was the last time the Oilers were so jacked up everybody sang the anthem out loud ?

I don't think so, as much as I hate soccer -- the ole ole chant gets the crowd into it.

You can't beat GM Place's opening song too. U2's "With or Without You" is a great riff. They should use the riff to "She sells sanctuary". That would flat out rock

Now that's what I'm talking about, gotta have the classics and tradition Which Colorado absolutely doesn't have.

Wait I forgot the retiring of Borque's jersey ...

Is Colorado's atmosphere automatically not worthy because it is an American city? They love their hockey in Colorado, and they definately have an excellent atmosphere.

The same percentage of people in every arena during the playoffs have their rituals, including in Colorado.

Last year most likely.

Anyway, like I said this is a very weak argument, if the arena staff in Denver like the techno/european music, that is completely up to them. You don't have to criticise every little detail.

Interesting in that Rock&Roll Part II was first played at Colorado Rockies (hockey) games.

Last year all Colorado played was Zombie Nation (which was the flava of the week in trance circles), I don't hear it anymore.

This year, what I'm hearing from Colorado is Benny Bassinni's Satisfaction, which is incidentally, the flava of the week, well it was a couple months ago.

This techno stuff is too faddish, fire your music guy and get somebody better. Try to develop more of an identity for the Pepsi Center instead of just playing whatever remix is popular at that point in time.
