The Flyers looked good against who exactly? I think the Caps will probably lose tonight because its a road game against a top team and home teams should win those. The Flyers are not going to be the 1 seed and I doubt they finish ahead of the Capitals.
That said, the Caps look like they are on a mission and if the Caps run all over the Flyers like they ran all over Boston and Toronto then look out.

The Flyers look nearly impenetrable defensively and if they smother the Caps like they completely smothered Carolina and New Jersey then look out.
But yeah, it's 2 games in, no one knows how good their team is let alone the rest of the league. But I think the Caps will finish ahead of the Flyers, only because the Flyers play in a much, much, much, much stronger division. Says nothing about the Caps actually being better, though.
Its too easy to call Emery perhaps. But it will be real nice for him to have Pronger out there half the game.
WRT to Sarge, if he has an above average breakout pass, he should be logging a lot more assists moving it up to Ovi so much. I think his passing is closer to average. He plays a simple game. But you dont see him try the home run pass like Green Juice heck even Erskine pull off every now and then. He is untested as a passer, too tentative to make a mistake; untested in the true test, the playoffs.
I actually think they'll play better on the road compared to this one being at Verizon but only if they can manage to weather the storm early like they did in Boston. The match-ups are less likely to be favorable, although Boudreau is going to ride the big guns either way so it doesn't really matter as much. We should see far less playing to the crowd and hopefully more of a simple, focused road game. Not sure I like the reported D pairings, though. A bit too slow for my liking.
To state the obvious, Pronger injures opposing players. Green last year is just one of many examples through the years. Now that they have to play Pronger four times a season, rather than once, I am satisfied if the Caps get through the game with no significant injury to any key player. Green got injured by Pronger early last season and, despite his amazing statistical season, I believe he never fully recovered and it affected him through the playoffs.
It's a long season and the Flyers' inspirational home opener, so Caps merely have to play the Flyers tough, go to the net, and play physical defense around their own net and I'll be satisfied win or lose.
The Flyers fans cheering Knuble after he scores a goal, that will be the day... something something. I am going to predict the rare blowout. Sure we are predicted to lose, but I have never seen us come out and show playoffish hockey in October. Ride the sonavabiotch. Add a hungry Sarge, and sit back.
