I don't think there's really much of a difference if the players are from Ontario. You can definitely grow up as a French Canadian in Ontario.

Claude Giroux is definitely french canadian. Hearst is like 90% french. I was born in Ontario and spent at least half of my life there, I am still technically a french quebecer though.

To be fair, a lot of french canadian were born in Ottawa, because Gatineau has crap service for maternities. I'm not sure if that applies to any of those you've listed.

I also do not think Ranger is a french canadian name.

BTW, Bouillon might be born in the states, but his parents are from Quebec and he grew up in Quebec too... so he's pretty much a québécois.
