How much did MAB make in previous seasons? Did he take a big paycut?

Well he can't be worse than Hal Gill!!! At least he scores goals. At one year/750K and limited time use except for the PP, it's all good. However, when Markov and Obyrne coming back, he will be sent down to Hamilton that's for sure or traded to some team for a late round draft pick in 2020!!!

Yes there's a few videos on youtube of the kind of hip checks he can dish.

5, just saw Weber give an entire interview in french on RDS, which shouldn't be surprising.

This is good pickup. I dont know why some people are complaining about it. I know that a lot of people WANT Subban to come out and prove himself, but Im sure Gainey wants to keep him fresh for next year....given that we have no more injuries this year.

Since no one wanted MAB, I think he's gonna prove himself BIGTIME to show that he can maybe (I did say maybe) be some kind of Mark Streit role or something similar.

I wonder how long he will stay with the Dogs then, cause over the next 10 days the Dogs only play 1 game. They have their home opener on the 9th and then go on the road on the 16th and 17th before coming home on the 19th and 20th and then back on the road for the 23rd, 24th, 27th and 30th.

So the Dogs play a bunch of games after the 19th (7 games in 11 days) vs starting out with 4 games in 18 days.

I saw him play live twice last year, he had 6pts in those two games. He can run our PP and thats all I care about!

Also his main problem in the defensive zone is throwing idiotic passes up the middle and cross ice. If we can hammer it into his brain to just play safe he might not be quite as big a liability

Im guessing if Webber plays, he'll stay with the dogs as long as we dont get into trouble.

This is exactly right. Spacek is one of the better PP QBs in the East, and I think MAB will work out nicely with him.

If Jacques Lemaire couldn't hammer it down to him, even if I know JM can be a real pain in the ass for players, I doubt anyone can.

Well, IMO, if he plays there, it's for a game.

Two things:

NOBODY replaces Markov. But Bergeron doesn't even help replace what Markov would do if he were not injured. Markov makes the plays. Bergeron, like Spacek or even Weber, finishes those plays with their shot. Maybe Spacek can help fill that playmaker void now that Bergeron becomes that big shot.

IF you are a player without a contract once the season starts, and you weren't even invited by a team as a camp tryout, then yes, nobody wanted you. Taking half the salary as the year before is an admittance to that. This or nothing. His agent saying other teams were interested is like my Mom saying I'm cool. Just a tad bit of bias involved.

That's what I'm talking about. That's a pretty interesting option.

Imagine this..

A.K-Gomez-Gionta
Spacek-Bergeron

I count 3 Booming Shots.

Or even better

Cammalleri-Gomez-Gionta
Spacek Bergeron

I count 3 Lethal Booming shots that no one would be able to predict. When you have 1 great shot whom is lethal, its abit easier to predict because you know the guy is gonna shoot. Now we have not 1, not 2, but 3! Bergeron has a Howitzer, Spacek has a Cannon, and Cammy has a Rifle of a shot. I'm not saying this makes us at all better or = if Markov was injured, but it certainly is noteworthy.

I like this move alot.

He is an adequate replacement for Markov on the PP, and a great depth dman when everybody is healthy. Also for $750,000 not a bad price.

Not bad career stats either:

339GP 62G 98A 160PTS +3

Why are people hating???? He is only 28 years old.
