I know some of you want the Flyers to look soft, and don't believe in the physical part of the game. But that's too bad for you, because Homer really thinks it's important.
Why do you act like you know Holmgren personally? Cool...you know Tollefsen. But don't you think it would make sense for Holmgren to tell Tollefsen he wants a physical team if he's trying to sign him? We have plenty of physicality without putting Cote, Tollefsen, and Asham all in the lineup. Pronger, Carcillo, Laperriere, Powe, Richards, and Hartnell provide plenty of hitting and fighting.

JVR out for at least a week.

Good thing it's a strange off week. The article says he could be ready for the the game against the Panthers next Friday, so he might only miss tomorrows game against the Ducks since there are no other games coming up in between.

JVR is skating again.

Van Riemsdyk, 20, didn't have any headaches at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday - in a loud environment - as he watched the Eagles knock-off Tampa Bay with the rest of his teammates.

He is flying with the team today to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where the Flyers will be doing team bonding events throughout the week on the Atlantic Ocean. He is expected to be ready to play in Friday night’s game against the Panthers.
Also thumbs up to supporting the other teams in town. They also all wore Phillies hats last year for the World Series. Here's a gallery of the team at the Eagles game. Cool skullcap, mini-Gags

All he needed was a joint to really complete that picture.

Also liked Kimmo and Razor throwing around.

Update on Betts:

http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/landi...362&feedID=695

Quote:
Rookie winger James van Riemsdyk expects to return to the Flyers’ lineup Friday night in Florida, while veteran center Blair Betts is hoping to return Oct. 22 against Boston.

Van Riemsdyk had exhibited low-grade concussion symptoms – the club never called it a concussion – after striking his head on the boards in last Tuesday’s game against Washington.
Quote:
Betts update
Blair Betts, who dislocated his right shoulder during last week’s game against Washington, appears to be a little ahead of schedule. He was expected to miss at least a month, but said Monday he might be ready to play by Thursday of next week.

Betts, who admitted having surgery to the same right shoulder after a dislocation as a Ranger, accompanied the team to Florida for the annual bonding extravaganza.

“I feel pretty good, actually, and skated the last few days and handled the puck a little bit,” Betts said. “I think we’re ahead of schedule.

“It’s a matter of how quickly we can get the muscles around the shoulder strong again. We’ve been doing some tests over the last couple days. Things are looking good. There are some weak areas.”

As to playing against the big bad Bruins on Oct. 22, he said, “that’s what we’re gunning for.”

Betts said every time he has suffered a shoulder dislocation, it was during a nondescript play. Last Tuesday, in the Flyers’ home opener against the Capitals, Betts took a faceoff at the very end of regulation and fell awkwardly onto the ice.

Huh?

People usually ask for an autograph. Must be the first time someone wants his underwear..

Just make sure JvR is 110% before coming back. All of us Flyers fans know that you don't mess around with head injuries. I would give him as much time as he feels he needs, then add a week to that.

Thats also why no NHL team would hire me as a trainer

Hartnell looks funny with his hair straight. Actually he looks funny with it curly too, nevermind.

Baby Matthew is adorable.
