I hate being a poor college student. I only have a 32" HDTV (720p at that), and they don't even transmit the HD broadcasts on Center Ice in Maine. I hate Time Warner and I wish I had money.

Kopitar's conditioning has certainly improved. He seems a bit stronger both with the puck and in battles down low. It's definitely contributing to his early success along with his new linemates. Let's hope his stamina is still there after 60+ games are in the books.

he seemed more physical as well, more willing to throw straight body checks.

It's too early to say which game is the aberration yet.

Well considering the team didn't have many games like Saturday's during last season and did play like they did yesterday (outside of the 5 on 5 offense), I think Saturday was the exception. We know what this team is capable of. Saturday's game reminded me of the 06/07 and 07/08 Kings teams.

I didn't see the game but watching the highlights one thing sticks out to me more than anything.

During the Drewiske-situation, the first one to react and repond along with Ivanans is Doughty. He reacts without much hesitation and I think this speaks volumes about his character.

If the young franchise player does this, the rest of the team better do the same. Always. A very very good sign in my opinion.

Haha no, just the ability to make wise financial decisions has exponentially declined. As soon as I made a little bit of extra money this summer I somehow convinced myself it would be a good idea to get a new tv, but now that I barely have enough for groceries I am slightly regretting that decision.

Brown has no business being on the #1 pp unit.
Brown was the one who screened the goalie and kept the puck alive on the Smyth goal.

I don't know what you've been watching but Greene has been solid in both games. He was blocking shots, throwing good checks and playing solid D alongside Scuds last night. He was paired with Scuderi because they needed two shutdown D against the Sharks top line. Drewiske plays well with Doughty and the two seem to have some chemistry so they were paired.

Fianlly found a nice picture: and it's looking absolutely great!!!!

Also, I really liked Ivanans his fight

Holy cow. Are they planning on doing that castle gate nonsense all season long?

I figured -- hoped -- it was just an opening night gimmick.

I thought Greene was alright but he whiffed on one of the Sharks goals (can't remember which one). Watched a pass go right through him to an open player next to the net.

Standing in front of the net is his only contribution. Not very impressed.

Greene's puck control in the defensive zone is atrocious. Take the purple colored glasses off and you'll realize that they have several areas they need to improve on and certain players are not getting the job done.

One thing Kopitar is going to have to work on is the fact that the Sharks gave him ZERO respect on the PP.

Especially in the 2nd and 3rd. If other teams do their homework, which they will, he should expect people in his face when he parks himself on the halfwall.

SJ defenders went after him immediately and took the puck away from him every single time. In the past the opposition has laid off of him and he has had time to do something.

Kopi needs to be ready for this.

Balanced scoring so far.

First line has 3 goals - Kopitar(2) Smyth
Second line has a goal - Purcell
Third line has two goals - Frolov, Simmonds
D has three goals - Johnson, Doughty, Drewiske

I don't know how to react to this game. On one hand I want to scream and yell about how horrible the PK was and that the Kings are lucky to walk away with a W. But on the other hand, it's the Sharks+Heatley, so...good win.

Kopitar is going to be a monster this year.
