Why did I watch that...

Brashear is past it as a fighter. Between preseason and the regular season he's been in 4 or 5 fights and in each case he's either gotten his ass kicked or drawn at best. And it won't get any prettier from here I suspect, given his age.

The line you heard over and over again in the offseason, "You don't like him now, but you'll love him the first time he wins a fight"...

we're still waiting

Not knocking Brashear, but we were really spoiled with Orr. One of the most entertaining fighters since Domi/Kocur. I've been one to question the merit of fighting at times, but I always enjoyed a Colton Orr fight. He was the "John Tortorella" of fighters, he may not always win and by no means had the best strategy, but he was exciting as hell to watch (and always looked like he enjoyed it, smile and all).

Brashear was always one of the most methodical and technical fighters, but in his early season scraps, he just doesn't seem to have the upperbody strength to dictate fights anymore. Maybe heavyweights have upped their training or he's lost a step, probably a combination of both, but Brashear isn't the once feared Brashear.

In a perfect world, I would love a Chris Simon (pre-Islanders crazy variety). A guy with hands who could play but who could hang in and beat many of the league's heavyweights.

If nothing else, Brashear has been good at getting the puck in the zone and playing n the corners.

This fight sucked. No winner, just lost his balance like Orr used to. The Godard fight was entertaining, but he didn't win by any stretch, and that might be saying a lot 'cause Godard is a pretty average fighter.

I guess you're sticking with that voice...

But the 30 second intros make no sense if the rest of the video is only a minute long.

Godard is most certainly not an average fighter. In fact, he's pretty much a consensus top-5 heavyweight along with Laraque, Brash, Orr, and Wade Belak.
