On our end, we were coming from Calgary where we played an intense physical game and lost that game despite our efforts against a behemoth defense. Not to mention both games are in the west and they are back to back.

These aren't excuses but actual fact. We didn't play well at all but this game was a recipe for disaster from the start. I just hope we don't make the mistake of not starting with Price against Edmonton.
Congrats sir ! A well thought out and very constructif post. I applaud you !

I wished i had the same talent for writing intelligent posts. Damn i am dumb !

I see where you're coming from Habs, but IMO it was a no-win situation.

Pull him in front of his friends/family = Bad
Leave him in to get pummeled = Bad

Personally I can't fault Martin for this as we don't know what was said between Price and Martin between periods.

You can tell who doesn't know Hockey if they blaming Gill for everything. Weber was far more brutal than Gill on the 3 breakaway goals. And not just stuff you can blame on him being an AHLer, but some defence 101 positioning stuff.

Watch it be Gill. I think this board would implode.

If you need a C on your jersey to be the leader of a team... that is a serious issue.

We need a healthy Markov back

Agreed.

Weber is not an NHL ready defenceman yet - Martin even said so in his comments about Weber in preseaon. We've all heard him say that Weber is polished offensively, but defensively he has some serious work to do. Gill is not great, but if he was paired with Gorges than he wouldn't look so bad. The only player that Weber should be paired with is Hamrlik - but for some reason Martin is convinced that Spacek and Hammer should play together.

It's going to be tough without Markov this year, everyone just needs to roll with the punches -there will be alot of them. This may turn out to be our worst game of the year, but I doubt it

Let's hope so.

The players were so slow, even at 0-0 i knew it would be a long night for Price.

Get all the AHL'ers out of here. Pick up some defensemen from waivers and sign them as forwards. They'd be twice as good as the trash we have now.

I wasnt thinking letters. I know its early, but to me it seems the team is not coming together yet.

Habsworld :

Afraid and slow, Gui was not an influence tonight. Zeros across the board including hits. For him to be successful he has to use his body.

Every other player was singled out but I find that comment scary. Its always been his problem. Isnt someone talking to him? Telling him to use that body? Hes completely useless if he doesnt and this is getting repetitive

Pacioretty needs to be sent down and this right ****ing now.

Weber is soooo not ready.

D'Agostini and Stewart better wake the **** up.

Cant wait for Markov and O'Byrne to come back.

So... I slept on it... Still pissed. What a terrible, terrible game that was. I don't wanna press the panic button just yet, but IF the first 4 games are any indication of how the team will be playing this season...

the thing about lats that i never got was that i never understood what his reaction was (or if he had a reaction at all) to people telling him to do things. Im sure he's been told a ton of times to park himself in front of the net, what goes through his mind after hearing that, because he doesn't do it that often?

Did anyone notice Andrei Kostitsyn in front of the net when he played with Gui on the powerplay? He was. Where was Gui? In the corner. There is something I can't understand about this.

Meh some guys here are pathetic

What's the deal with being 2-2 on the road?
If we manage to win or get a point against Edmonton we will be at .500 or more which is very respectable after 5 away games including home openers AND strong teams like VAN and CAL

I guess some can't accept losses. This is MADNESSSSSSSSS!

My thoughts exactly. He walks and talks like a tough guy but doesnt play the role on the ice. He's so frustrating to watch. He does some great stuff when hes planted infront of the net, but thats so rare. Look at Gionta, tiny but puts it home, imagine what Lats could do if he positioned himself the same way. The more seasons pass by the more im thinking he'll never do that and thats not a good thing

So, I went to bed when Vancouver scored the 5th goal. I woke up hoping Montreal at least scored 1 or 2 more to make it look not so pathetic. Then I find out it was Vancouver who scored 2 more.

Gui est un gros peureux ! He is scared of his shadow. If he had any balls at all he would be standing in front of the net. Watch him after every scrum, he looks like i did when i was a kid, when my older brother was about to pound me into submission !

Is it just me or does Price look like the rigth side of his mouth is swollen?

check out the video, "les echos de vestaire ch-canucks" 2009-10-07:

http://www.rds.ca/video/visionneuse.html

When they interview price after the game, it looks like the right side of his mouth is swollen.. Is it just me????
