Sacco said backup goalie Peter Budaj will play at some point on the road trip, but he didn't know when that first game would come.
Also on the Salei front (for those wondering where he has been)
Coach Joe Sacco said veteran defenseman Ruslan Salei will be available to the team tonight, but he would not say for sure if Salei will be in the lineup. Salei did not play in the first two games. The team listed him as a healthy scratch but said a flu bug in training camp may have contributed to his not playing.
Also heard some rumors from people at practice that David Jones is back skating with the team, and may actually make the road trip. Good news! (But we will see)
David Jones will make the road trip, but he's still not skating with the team yet:
David Jones (chest) is joining his Avalanche teammates for the start of the club's seven-game road swing. The winger was injured in a preseason contest against the Los Angeles Kings on Sept. 23 and has not played or gone through a full practice since.
Jones has, however, been skating on his own before practice recently. This morning, he hit the ice half an hour before his teammates and was put through skating and shooting drills by Video/Development Coach Adam Deadmarsh.
Im expecting a slow start due to this 5 fukcin day off thing and I hope Neo can keep us in this game despite the groin issue....n e ways 5-0 Preds
Luckily Nashville's been off just as long as us, otherwise I would expect a loss. However, I think we've got a good chance in this one (unless we pull an 08-09 Avs and only beat the teams we're expected to lose to).
God I hate these guys. They're to the Avs what the Jacksonville Jaguars are to the Broncos, at least IMO. I suppose a team more analogous to that would be the Oilers, but the Preds just irritate me more. And now, at least on paper, they're the better team. I hope we steamroll them and get this road trip started right. I'm expecting more from Svatos and Stewart--without them giving us some consistent scoring the scoring burden will continue to weigh heavily on the top line.
It'd be nice if Salei played and Clark was up in the press box but I suppose that's asking for too much.
Yes, Anderson will start...in fact, Sacco said Budaj will play on the trip...but he isn't sure when. So I am guessing a couple more games for Anderson (I would guess against the Leafs for Budaj...it's the second of a back-to-back)
I live in California and have center ice, but will be at work during the game, so I have to record it. Does anybody know which channel is the Altitude feed? As annoying as the homerism announcing can get, i'd rather listen to it from our side than from the Preds. Thanks.
