Subjective here.

Many teams have these perceived problems. Truth is they scored on a PP in a tied game tonight, which is "when it counts" and they won three puck battles on the go ahead goal in the third, which was also when it counted.

you are using him as an example??? lol, Varlamov wishes he would be Bulin, so he could sweat off a few extra pounds.

It won't last.
Honestly, after the first half of the first period, the Oilers really had just as much pressure as the Flames. And the Oilers for the most part were keeping the Flames out of the dangerous areas defensively. I'd say overall they played an even better game than their first one on Saturday!

We deserved to win this game.

I though Roli's five hole was bad but Khabibulin seems to be ****ing a mile wide. How can he not even save that goal against Jokinen? Another weak performance in net. CALGARY is so ****ING LUCKY

I like that the games have been extremely entertaining, but to be emotionally crushed 2 out of 3 nights is going to hurt real bad after a while if the trend keeps going this way.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean much to us considering what happened on Saturday night. And I'd say that this game was much closer than Saturday's was.

Did they even check for that in the booth review? Who knows? Seemed like they called back pretty fast for such a close play.

It was pretty even I think...it could have gone either way, and it did.

I'm not terribly disappointed - this team has looked much better than I thought they would starting off the season.

It's a tough one to take but keep doing things right and results will come.

We are much improved from last year, despite the same results. We will get the luck of the bounce soon, it's early days.

It's just a shame we have lost two very close games to those ********

Clearly you've never played goalie.....

You try stopping a 90+ mile an hour shot that gets deflected 10 feet in front on you with a screen.

Here's a simple solution. Don't friggen get scored on when you have a face-off in the opponent's zone with 30 seconds to go in the game.

Ridiculous.

They stopped skating in the 2nd despite the nice 5 on 3 kill.

Despite 3 points in 3 games, a brutal start to the year on home ice for a team looking to establish a better home record after last season's debacle.

The Souray injury makes the defence as soft as molasses.

Quinn presser will be on the 630 Ched in the next 5 minutes according to Tencer, for those who want to hear what he has to say.

Why doesn't Khabibulin react as fast as he does in NHL10?

Oh ya, I just want to point out that the Oilers had the faceoff in the Calgary zone with 30 seconds left in the game. Horcoff won the draw in to the corner, Penner cycled the puck to Moreau. The right thing to do is to cycle it back down low, and kill the clock as much as possible.

Moreau throws a brain dead centering pass to nobody in particular. Picked off by the Flames, and the rest is history.

The guy scored today. Great. But he cost us the game.

This team's defensive zone coverage is in the bottom 5 in the NHL. Not at all surprised that they give up the tying goal. Khabibulin was the reason we got even a point tonight. Guys don't take their men in front of the net and support each other in the defensive zone.

What bugged me the most was Moreau looking up at the clock and not showing any effort in skating at Phaneuf with 5 seconds left. That allowed Phaneuf to get it to Bouwmeester and get the shot away. Play till the end and play smart. Good things happen to good teams and bad things happen to bad teams.

Khabibulin was very good tonight and I thought Lubo was as well.

The system this team plays needs to be changed. Stop with the cycling the puck behind the net when in the defensive zone and just get the puck out. Calgary spends 3 seconds when clearing the zone compared to our 20.

A frustrating loss. Hopefully the boys can bounce back with a win on Saturday. To make the playoffs, we can only have a few mistake games like this all season and we've already used up 2 in the first 3 games.
