Yes, definetely a buzz kill. There is a downfall to cheering for Canadas greatest franchise

I'll check out the 7 o'clock game when I get back from the office at least.

After putting it on Twitter, Elliot Freidman wrote back to me: "Sens fans: Added afternoon game on the 31st for the network audience. Budget-wise we could only do one. Better national than local."

I emailed GameCenter Live and they said since there is no TV coverage for this game tonight it will not be available on GCL.

I complained to CBC as well. It is just ridiculous!

Atlanta again eh? That's cool, afternoon games are always fun. But gotta love how Elliot tries to get CBC as coming off as heroes. That game was ALREADY scheduled to be on CBC regionally, so they didn't add jack, they just made that game national and for all Sens fans and Ottawa viewers who gives a crap!! We're still missing out on tonight and many other Saturdays.

Budgest my ass!!

I was thinking the exact same thing. He's just dangling a carrot above Sens fans' heads and hoping we fall for it.

We should not be happy or satisfied with second best, ever. Every saturday night Senators game should be broadcast! If they don't have the budget(LOL!), they should let another station cover it.

Budget eh?

So why is CBC getting tax money to broadcast minority content again?

To think... Cheechoo, Michalek, Kovalev, Karlsson might all score and we'll miss it

Being a Thrasher fan in Ontario I actually am used to missing games, but knowing it was going to be against a Canadian team I actually thought it would be picked up by someone.

Well here's to a good game, good luck Sens.

Thank you CBC.

We will not get to watch this game, but maybe, in future, things might change and they can broadcast the other 5 Sens games?

As for Elliot Friedman's reply, I'd say BS. No budget? WTF. Our tax money is going to the Leafs games.

How does the budget stop CBC from letting SNET broadcast the game?

LOL at elliot freidman this is seriously a joke. Had a guy come in to work the other day explaining how leafs fans are the most loyal fans in the hockey league.... that can only be said because they haven't made it to the playoffs in years and they wouldn't cheer for any other team lol what other choice do they have

Come on a billion dollar taxpayer funded endowment can only go so far, even if HNIC makes money to only add to that billion dollars.

Because their ego is too inflated to hand over the power to broadcast on a Saturday night to any other rival - even if said competitors could help the budget by actually buying the damn rights off of CBC for the night. I am sure TSN would be salivating of the thought of playing a game on a saturday complete with the original HNIC theme song and would be ready to pay quite the penny.

Hard to tell as we won't be able to see any of it.

Exactly so. If they can't "afford" to show the games, then let someone else do it.

At least stop pretending its "Hockey Night in Canada". It's "Promote the hell out of the Leafs as Canada's team even if they're a Dismal Bunch of Scrubs Night in Canada".

Sportsnet, TSN, The Score, even Rogers local-I dont care who. If Ottawa is so low on the totem pole for HNIC that they have no interest in showing the games, step aside and let someone else do it.

Not being able to see Kovalev's feathery locks is the number one reason to be pissed at CBC right now.

I would say that in tonight's case, our tax dollars are going to Crosby and the Penguins.
