I believe it's at 7.

I'm hearing the Panthers arrived early to check out some of the local golf courses in hopes of finding some new places to play in April.

Ahhaha, that's a zinger, it slaps me on the knee, if you will.

I have no idea what's going on with the Panthers this year. All I know is that Tyler Plante is back in the AHL, as such I have no interest in anything about the team.

If this is going to continue with Pitkanen, either Rodney or McBain needs to be called up to fill in for Pitkanen's puck moving ability. The offense has looked horrendous without Pitkanen.

Cole and/or Ryan should be on IR for now so there is space to call one of them up.

Great, I guess Paul lied after the game... He said Joni was fine, just stiff from lack of play from all the PKs... Any word on how long Joni is out... He is a necessity to a successful season

Honestly, I think we need McBain and Boychuk up here to get the offense jump started... We just need to freshen it up and get some new looks out there with people that move the puck and can be playmakers

Automatic loss. I don't think I will even bother watching the game tonight. I'm not at all interested in watching our pylon D constantly get burnt, chip pucks off the glass, rim it around the boards, pass into teammates' skates and generally kill every chance in the offensive zone by either (a) dumping the puck in the corner (b) taking a 30mph slapshot fifteen feet wide of the net.

McBain, Carson or Rodney need to be on this team NOW. What exactly is Jay Harrison doing here when we already have Wallin, Ward and Alberts as our resident unskilled defensemen?

It's really sad that Gleason and Corvo look like Norris Trophy candidates compared to the rest of the D.

I actually like Harrison's play. OMG he just say that?

But for serious, I really like the defense but it's obviously much better with Pitkanen. He has a history of being a bit of a baby in regards to how long it takes him to recover from things that other players usually just bounce right back from, if you could consider that a weakness then that would be his.

Something tells me it wasn't the only puck he gave away that night.

I did a google search for Marek Malik jokes that yielded 2,359,495 hits and just randomly selected one.

I hope Seidenberg doesn't own us because he would look really good in Canes uniform right about now. Anyone except Wallin or Harrison.

I don't understand the dislike of Jay Harrison that almost everyone in this thread has displayed. Sure, he isn't going to be in the running for the Norris Trophy, but he sure adds an element to this team we need: Toughness. The fight with Lucic was a pretty even fight until Lucic got him while he was down and cut his forehead. His defensive game is on the same level as Wallin, so whats the big deal?

I would take Jay Harrison over Nic Wallin any day.

On another note.... GO CANES! Going to be a good game tonight. Calling a 'Canes win. Also calling a wide open game, couple of fights (Hopefully). Harrison can easily take on any of their fighters, not to mention Gleason can DESTROY Campbell.

Yes, they should go with only 5 defensemen.

So we need Jay Harrison's "toughness" and the absolute lack of skill he brings along with it instead of a defenseman who can actually move the puck out of the zone and contribute to the offense? Three goals scored in three games and an absolutely horrific powerplay can at least partially be attributed to having exactly ONE skilled defenseman in the lineup (not counting the nine minutes Pitkanen played in the last game). We already have a bunch of "physical" defensemen in the lineup....Jay Harrison is beyond redundant on this roster.

That's the problem.

That's not really saying much. They both belong in the AHL or in Europe.

We need additional elements of speed and skill, or at least some liveliness, over toughness at this point, if you ask me. Toughness is a ho-hum de facto hockey answer if you ask me, and is a lazy one in our case.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but in case it is, did you not see the earlier posts mentioning McBain or Rodney?
