Quick played well, don't get me wrong. But, I would think the guy leading the league in PPG would get it.
given your handle, i'm not surprised... i just think that prefacing the announcement of which Kings player was given some sort of award with "the wrong one," is a bit ridiculous.
he's surrendered what, 1 even strength goal in three games? gotta keep em out of the next just as much as you gotta put em into the net. i fully realize that this is a little more indicative of team defense and not individual effort, but i've also cautioned everyone to be wary of putting the cart before the horse with Kopitar because arguments can and will be made for and against due to the highly experienced bookends they have him sandwiched in-between.
What's weird is, the announcement of the three stars at NHL.com says Kopitar got the nod, but then the expanded one mentions Quick. Quick's nomination surprises me, Kopitar doesn't.
NEW YORK — San Jose Sharks left winger Dany Heatley, Los Angeles Kings center Anze Kopitar and Vancouver Canucks center Henrik Sedin have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending Oct. 11.
Meh, Neither Kopitar nor Smyth needs the confidence boost. I don't mind Quick getting the nod. He needs to step up his game night in and out for a good 6 more months. He will need all the help he can get.
"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
