I just read that he left the game tonight because of an upper body injury and he did not return.

Now, because of lack of coverage, I didn't watch the game, and I didn't see very much highlights.

Can anyone confirm whether this is serious or not?

He left the bench with only 5 minutes left in the game . No-one in the broadcasr crew saw or was aware of any injury until they were told so it was nothing obvious. From this, I would think that it is likely not serious.

Unless he felt a sudden sharp pain in his right lower quadrant of his abdomen, meaning his apendix may have exploded...

I can't remember who from Atlanta but somebody caught him with a pretty good hit along the boards. He took the hit to get the puck out of the zone & started an offensive rush but I saw him head to the bench immediately after that hit. I guess he didn't return but I don't recall.

It says he left mid way through the third, but as long as he left the bench and it wasn't a freak on-ice accident I won't be too worried about it.

thanks for clearing that up though.

I was there too, he took a hit along the glass and went to the bench but he just sat there and wasn't getting any attention from the trainer. I don't think there was any knee on knee hit or something crazy that would put him out.

Hopefully it was just precautionary once the game was in control.

No big deal, I survived that. The month of recovery wasn't even that bad.

Last night, someone on here mentioned possible shoulder injury. (he had a shoulder injury last year also IIRC)

Let's hope not.

If he isn't good to go for Monday, do you call up Smith or Zubov? I love the forward depth we have.

Zubov is on his way out , so Smith would get the nod . Probably moz is right , Winchester is ready to go and a call up won't be necessary.

No news at all on Regin's injury? IMO he's been a big part of our success so far and even if Winchester or Shannon come back, they aren't quite as capable of making their linemates better. I sure hope it was only precautionary.

I agree. I wouldn't even want Winchester in the lineup with everyone healthy.

Im hoping a lot of fans on the board agree with you, because if Winchester does play that means he'll probably score a goal and help us win the game.

It's a tough call with Regin's play, but Winchester is at least the 13th forward. If I were to take someone out though (assuming a fully healthy lineup), it might be Cheechoo. Let's face it... the guy is pretty much useless.

Not he isn't. Not in the least. He looked great against the Islanders. If everyone was healthy, I would have Shannon and Winchester as the spares. You don't mess with a winning formula. If we start doing badly, ease Shannon in.
