if you could pick one shark to score > 50 goals, who would you want it to be?
in last third of 05-06, a sharks goal was great but if it was a cheechoo goal it was that much more awesome.

who would you have the most fun rooting for this year? (can't say JT lol.)

ovy's gp is kinda disheartening for me still...When are teams going to start catching up to us in GP? We're going on another big road trip next week...

Are we just going to have a few weeks where we do nothing while other teams are playing catchup?

Hopefully heater can keep things up and ovy can get on a long schnide.

Better to play a lot of games early in the year. Especially now with the olympics adding a bunch of games to potential players. Makes it easier to get some well deserved rest at the end of the season before the playoffs.

Ovy was injured for 6 games, why do you think he's second in scoring?

There are many teams that are at 25 games, LA has played 24.

I doubt it. So far, it looks like we're gonna have a lot of 50 goal scorers - Ovy, Kovy, Heater, Gaborik, Iginla. The rest on the list would probably hit 40.

I don't care how many Heater will score as long as it is over 50. I am more concerned with Thornton finally breaking 100pts again. 90assists would be nice as well. Which is definitley doable. Heatley's 50 + Marleau's 40 = 90 assists. So far he has 31 assists which is one less to Heater's and Marleau's cumulative goals.

gabby gets injured in the 2nd half, just watch Can't help but expect him to still be glass.

otherwise it probably still wont be that predictable, a guy like iginla could def slow down.

ovy, kovy, heater, pretty good chance they all have around or over 50. What if thornton breaks 100 assists? Now that would be amazing...Sure it's only 10 assists more but triple digits look so pretty

Anyone who still thinks getting heater was a bad idea should slap themselves silly at this point. The dude is a machine with JT out there. And if Patty keeps playing on the top line, its only going to get better and better...

Ottawa fans must just love this...

yeah it is strange when you look at the goal scorers and say wow, he only has 12 goals, he should have more then that.

but then you have to realize to even just score 25+ goals is a pretty good year, then there are the ones who score 40+ and its just amazing to actually think about it.

21 - Gaborik (28GP)
20 - Ovechkin (23GP), , Crosby (31GP), Marleau (33GP), Heatley (33GP)

The only 20 goal scorers so far. Four players that are 3 away.

Both Marleau and Heater are on pace to 49.6 => ~50 goals. I think it would be special to have two 50 goal scorers on one team; however I have a silly feeling they both will stop at 40s.

Oh please. No one denied that Heatley was going to pot a ton of goals in the regular season.

Let's wait until the playoffs and next offseason to make our judgments on the trade. Heatley has proved nothing. It's far too early to decide if he was worth Michalek or his salary, but most importantly, whether or not he'll produce in the playoffs.

Ovechkin scores just 2min in vs Toskala and the Leafs.

It's nice that Joe Thornton and Cheechoo won the Art Ross/Hart/Richard when they did, because 'the Great 8' will likely own one or more of those accolades for the next 10-20 years.

*EDIT
And Gaborik also on the board early with a goal vs. Buffalo
