It's something like a 45 minute car ride from my home to the Bell Center.

It really bothers a few of you to actually find the distance, doesn't it?

Hmmm.... from Boise it's about:
At least a 14-15 hour drive to Denver
Probably 13-14 down to San Jose
As such the closest would be Vancouver, about a 11-12 hour drive.

So far, USC lives the closest to any team....assuming he used his exact home address when calculating the distances.

Edit: Er, I forgot about incawg.

To Joe Louis Arena in Detroit = 165.69 mi
To Nationwide Arena in Columbus = 123.31 mi
To HSBC Arena in Buffalo = 218.15 mi
To Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh = 135.75 mi

So I am closest to Columbus and Pittsburgh of the 4 I listed. Of those 4 arenas, the only 2 I have been to are The Joe in Detroit, and the one in Buffalo (it was called Marine Midland Arena when I went...is it the same arena just a different name, or a new arena?)

I live south of Cleveland, but I was born in Detroit, and that's why I am a Wings fan (and the main reason I added the Joe on my list). That's how far I am away from back home I don't miss it too much there though...too much traffic

Oddly enough, according to Mapquest I live (Barnegat, NJ) approximately 90 miles from three different teams, wow!

Flyers 88.51 Miles
Devils 89.62 Miles
Rangers 89.75 Miles
Islanders 116 Miles
Capitals 216.08 Miles

I should note though, that I am an Isles fan, and 116 miles isn't all that bad when I go to games. But (as many of you NY metro people know), Long Island and Brooklyn traffic is the absolute worst! The Garden State Pkwy, Staten Island, and sometimes the Verrazano bridge is a breeze, but as soon as I get to that hellridden Belt Pkwy...heh...my hour and a half trip becomes 2 to 3 hours! The Devils are probably the easiest to see, though I guess I could always take a train into Penn Station, which is literally where the Rangers play, but why would I want to do that?

FYI. Same Arena. Marine Midland Bank changed it's name to HSBC. It actually took about two years between when the bank changed its name to when they actually changed the arena's.

I'm in Richmond, Virginia. I'm not going to bother with exact distances but it's about two hours worth of driving from my place to the MCI Center and about three to get to the RBC Center in Raleigh.

I will be moving to Champaign, Illinois, where I'll be about two hours from Chicago and three from St Louis.

I live in the US. The closest teams to me are:

Vancouver Canucks - 72.41 miles

Calgary Flames - 614 miles

Edmonton Oilers - 730.17 miles

San Jose Sharks - 903.56

I couldn't get the adress for the Flames to work on Mapquest. I instead just got the distance from my residence to the city of Calgary. I am a Canucks season ticket holder. Given the great distance to any other NHL team my choice was simple.

It's probably because he has to take a ferry. Victoria is located on Vancouver Island.

Of course my 72 miles estimated travel time didn't take into account the hassle it can be to get across the U.S. - Canadian border.
