Fixed it for you.

Way to injure your own teammates Stars!!! You should be proud of yourselves though, looks like for the 1st time in 2 games you made it 60 minutes without going after a teammate’s head.

The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has placed right wing Jere Lehtinen on injured reserve, retroactive to January 16. He suffered an upper body injury on January 16 vs. Detroit. The club also announced that it has recalled center Warren Peters from the Texas Stars, Dallas’ primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

It's a neck injury caused by Brenden Morrow ..... this injury has nothing to do with his recent problems.

I know but he is to injury prone now. This is what his 3rd time on IR this season already? How many times in the past 3 seasons has he been on IR? way to many to remember is my guess.

..... and all those previous times still have no impact on this latest injury. While you can make the case he should retire because of previous injuries, this one has nothing to do with his body holding up to the rigors of an NHL schedule. A teammate ran him from behind. This is not a reoccurring injury like previous trips to the IR.

FYI …. I think this is his 4th time on IR this year, but the moral of this story is Morrow can’t be reckless and take out members of his own team.

Morrow himself is hoping for a return this Sunday, but next Wednesday might be more reasonable.

According to Heika, both Morrow and Lehtinen are ready to go for Wednesday. I'm cautious about Lehtinen though. He might pull an Odibie McDowell.*

Heika also writes Wandell "is not expected to be back any time soon," this time with Crawford as a source rather than Heika's original speculation Wandell was finished as a player.

* McDowell famously was put on the MLB DL for cutting his finger with a butter knife.

And where, exactly, did Heika speculate that? I didn't remember seeing it, and a quick look through the blog archives doesn't show me any more than "I fear he could be out for much longer than that" in response to Crawford saying he'll miss the game at Colorado. I could be missing it, though.

There are so many fun baseball injuries. I like the strained eyelid myself.

I don't know about that. Steve Leach of the Carolina Hurricanes(believe it was him)who strained his neck while...brushing his teeth. That ranks right up there for odd ways to injure yourself.

See, I have patience for legitimate injuries caused by dumb things, and they amuse me because most athletes are the special sort of dumb that comes with being validated your entire life.

Baseball injuries get me because I can't fathom a reason you'd miss a game with a strained eyelid or sprained pinky finger. Suck it up and play.

It was intended to be sarcastic, though we all know how well sarcasm goes over on the Internet. I thought better of it at a later time, but I wasn't around. My error.

Yep, baseball injuries are fun. There are great soccer ones too. It seems like one per respective season, there's some journalist who tracks some of the more bizarre ones. McDowell's just came to mind when I was writing previously.

I don't recall that, but I don't doubt you. Maybe it was a mechanical tooth brush, Home Improvement style, or maybe he had a piece of pop corn stuck and he was frustrated his normal movement wasn't doing the job?

Apparently the target date for Ribeiro's return is now the 9th of the month.

Oh good. He can showcase how much he is healed before we trade him...

Meh, it's SOP to have at least 1 extra forward on the road. I'd guess he gets sent down immediately following the game tomorrow night so he doesn't miss a single Cedar Park game.

Who is hurt? The only time they've carried 14 healthy forwards before is when no one was hurt. They've carried 12 or 13 every other time players were out.

Fistric to have knee surgery, out until after the Olympics.

Ott had an emergency appendectomy ... guess the ****-disturbing finally backfired.

Neal-Richards-Loui
Morrow-Benn-Lehtinen
Petersen-Modano-Brunnstrom
Wathier-Ribeiro-Sawada

??

Stars are really lucky on the timing of these two injuries. Both would probalby miss several more than 3 games in any normal season. Not sure how major the surgery on fistric knee was, but I wouldnt be surprised if Ott is iffy for a while even after the break. I smell a 3 game losing streak.
