What if - (Leafs / Bruins / Habs)

As i'm sure everyone is well aware, our last game in the season is vs the Leafs.

If the following scenario happens, who will you be cheering for:

We are down to the final game of the season, Habs vs Leafs
Montreal is in 9th place 1 point behind 8th however requires the full 2 points to be guaranteed in the playoffs, if they get only 1 the 8th place team beats out the Habs in the tie breaker as they have more wins.
However if Montreal wins, in OT or in Regulation, this would guarantee that Toronto ends the year as part of the Bottom 5 teams meaning Boston is guaranteed a top 5 draft pick and a chance at drafting #1 overall. However if Toronto wins and gets the 2 points, then they will no longer be part of the bottom 5 teams in the league and will not be part of the draft lottery, however this also means the Habs miss the playoffs.

If this scenario happens..... who/what would you be cheering for?

And NO you cannot have an option saying "I hope this never happens" you have to choose either the Habs or the Leafs winning.

I voted MTL....i dont care about ifs and buts. I want a team to win not to rely on other teams to help us.

Habs no doubt. My love of them outweights my hatred of Boston and Toronto by a wide margin.

I voted MTL as well as I cannot ever see myself cheering on the Leafs.
However some people might look at what's more beneficial for us in the future, what if the player Boston takes with TOs 1st overall end up becoming a superstar and haunts MTL for years to come. and We might look back at this year's draft and say: "If only we lost vs TO on that last game". And who knows we may end up getting eliminated in the 1st roud of the playoffs again this year if we just barely make it.

Mod edit:

This is a legit question we might be faced with at the end of the year. I just wanted to get an idea of where our fellow Habs supporters stand.

Also I've been watching the Habs for 21 years now (since I'm 4 years old) with my 1st favorite player #6 Russ Courtnall, so please careful on how judge people as I am a die hard Habs fan.

I know what your saying it would be a really messed up predictament. However, you gotta go with your team and I think the votes show that.

Uhh, you play to win.

Plus if Toronto ends up in a lottery position it just makes Burke look stupid.

Win-win situation imo.
