What was the reason Montreal took the gamble in 1986? Was it because there strting goaltender wasn't winning games. Anyone know Why???

It's sad that some people are already thinking Theodore can't do the job.

It's also sad that many people realize he has hard time doing it.

Did anyone else here see how the rest of the team played???

They were aweful, they couldn't skate, hit, shoot, pass or even think. The team as a whole was aweful and I'm not sure if it is because of jitters or just plain tiredness, but Theo wasn't the problem here.

I guess Nashville, Calgary and Toronto will all be switching to their back ups because of their goaltending too?

Pathetic to to blame this on Theo, 36 shots and he has 33 saves. Sure Raycroft had 31 saves, but he wasn't nearly as tested as Theo. the only pressure we had was a little bit in the 3rd.

60 minutes by the whole team is needed to win and needed to help out your gaolie too.

Seriously, that game on Wednesday night was probably the worse game I saw played by the Habs this year...you gotta show up every night in the playoffs or you go home, you don't show up you don't win.

Those talking against Theodore are not talking about his last game. We're talking about his second half of the season and he's terrible performance two years ago in the playoffs. Oh by the way the atrocious season he had one year ago.

I starting to love Garon ALMOST as much as Theodoor (aka. Theodore, The odor...) I like his size and the way he can do those painful looking splits

Roy got the starting goalie job two months in the season.

Why? Because Soetaert and Penney sucked. And Jean Perron needed 2 months to understand that.

By the way, Theo is no Penney!

I agree, Theo wasn't at his best towards the end of the season, and Game 1, he made some big saves, but he has to find a way to steal a game for us like he did in the playoffs last time. He started off bad but really turned it on, and was great at the end of the series when it counted most.

I don't think fans here should be so upset, the only thing that matters is beating boston, no matter what it takes, or who's in net. There's no way Garon will play, but we all want to see the team win, and unless the ENTIRE team plays better this won't happen reguardless of who's in net.

That said I thought Theo had a bad game but so did the entire team.

Didn't Roy have 2 bad playoff games against Quebec back in 1993, before winning the next four and guiding the team to the Cup?

Perron was actually going to give the start to Doug Soetaert, who was the best of the three Hab goalies that season, but he got hurt and they went with Roy.

Everyone on Theo's case should just back off.. I think he played a great game Wednesday. And don't say that all these threads about him are because of the last half of this season, because I would have seen as many before Wednesday. THERE'S NO REASON for this... Theodore is one of the premiere goalies in the league, and I'm waiting for all of you bandwagon hab fans to jump back on the JT train by the end of tonight.

I didn't realize hab fans could act like this... its a disgrace.

I'm totally sick of this crap. Theo is the No. 1 goalie and has proved it. Please stop comparing him to 2 years ago. He is still top 5 in the league and thats why he should start all the games this spring.

Whats doing the job to you?? A cup?? Well in that case on a few goalies have done the job in the past five years and every other goalie should just give up...
