Why take a chance that you could miss the game?

Come on down to Nationwide. We all need to be there to blow the roof off of the place and off of the Flames!

Ugh...Jackets have to fight the flames tonight. I didn't like what I saw in the shark tank, Blunden and Dorsett got their butts kicked. Stuff like that can really kill some team energy. Hopefully Boll plays tonight...and good luck to the Jackets.

Finding no other reason why the game would not be televised, was it left out in order to get people to watch the Center Ice preview? Not sure why FSN would listen a request from the cable company to set up the schedule that way. But if you are not going to show all the games, why not make one of the unbraodcast games one in which you could potetnially generate revenue from a Center Ice preview.

Anywho, just glad its not a late season game that is not being shown instead and that I have tickets to the game anyways.

Today is Tuesday

That channel Vs. has exclusive US rights to show hockey on Tuesday nights. If we weren't playing a Canadian team it wouldn't be covered by ANYBODY.

I'll be there. Section 117 Row G. Me and 7 of my buddies are gonna be taking up half the row. Can't wait. Should be a good game, plus it's my first time seeing the Flames.

I've been confident before all of our games except vs SJ and tonight. I'm nervous for this one.

Then why does the NHL schedule a game at a time and a place where a team is contractually unable to breadcast its game, even when that game is not carried by another network? I am not one of those people who has a constant irrational hate of Bettman, but what moron thinks that the average person in the Columbus market is going to say "I can't watch the Jackets, I will switch over to the game on Versus" This game is has the potential to be a classic, but nobody will see it. Of course, this is the same collective braintrust that did not televise the Jackets third game in franchise history and its first win.

I would but i already spent money on a CBJ Six pack as well as a couple other games. I'll be at LA, possibly Pittsburgh, and Phoenix this month.

I'm fresh out of college so my current salary does not allow me to go to everything. The second I can afford it, i am buying season tickets!

They are showing the Lake Erie game because the time slot was open tonight.
We've had games air on Tuesdays before, though, during this supposed Versus exclusive rights slot. Remember when our Blues game on Tuesday, Feb. 3 got dropped last season, and FSOhio picked it up? And there are a handful of games on Tuesdays this season that are slated to be aired that go in direct competition with the Versus game.

So it's NOT the whole "Versus exclusivity" stuff you claim, or NONE of our Tuesday games would have been aired, period.

Here are our games starting in the 7 p.m. hour window that aren't on Versus that are being aired by FSOhio this season:

Tue Nov 24, 2009 Blue Jackets Canadiens
7:30 PM TSN(HD), RDS(HD), FS-O(HD)
Tue Dec 29, 2009 Blue Jackets Islanders
7:00 PM FS-O
Tue Jan 19, 2010 Blue Jackets Flyers
7:00 PM FS-O
Tue Jan 26, 2010 Predators Blue Jackets
7:00 PM FS-O(HD)
Tue Mar 2, 2010 Canucks Blue Jackets
7:00 PM FS-O(HD)
Tue Mar 23, 2010 Blue Jackets Devils
7:00 PM FS-O(HD)
Tue Mar 30, 2010 Lightning Blue Jackets
7:00 PM FS-O(HD)

Sure looks like Versus has an "exclusive" Tuesday contract to me with all those Tuesday CBJ games slated to air.

This will be the first game I actually get to sit down and watch all the way through. (I've snuck onto Hockeystreams at work a few times this season )

Hockeystreams is showing a green light for the game, so there is another option for ya...

Jackets win 3-2, Mason holds up against a barrage in the third, Jake, Brassard, and my boy Murray with the goals.

BTW, Hainsey scored his first of the season Saturday night. Good omen???

They don't do the Versus exclusivity thing every Tuesday. Towards the end of the season, they cut back on them. Can you imagine the reaction if a RS game with enormous playoff implications wasn't shown?

The NHL is more in Comcast's pocket than I'm comfortable with, but it isn't that bad.

The Versus "game of the week" as they call it is either Monday or Tuesday. This week, just our luck, it is Tuesday. If you look at the NHL schedule, many of last nights games were broadcast on regional sports networks (in addition to the game on Vs) and tonight the only game being broadcast in the US is on Versus. All other TV broadcasts are Canadian networks.

Then that's a very key fact Frank Booth left out of his post, if that is indeed true.

Still. I'll be the first to admit that FSOhio sucks, but this isn't their fault.

I'm pretty sure you have CI, and are you really that upset about not getting to see Gilbert Godfrey say that Miikka Kiprusoff won the Veznia last season?
