When Stajan was benched last year he came back with a vengeance. Hopefully it works again.

Exelby in, they better not take Finger out. The guy's been one of our best D men.

I've wondered if Grabovski & Kulemin should switch positions. Kuley is much more sound defensively and hasn't looked too bad taking faceoffs from the handful I've seen him take this year, whereas Grabovski couldn't win a faceoff to save his life.

Blake and Stempniak won't be benched. They're American.

Does it really matter who gets benched.
Aside from Poni.....They are all 3rd line forwards anyways.

Relax everyone...there's enough room in the pressbox for everyone to get a turn.

Leafs to no ones surprise are last in the league in goals against at this point based on the goaltending of Vesa..

However Blake is a team worst - 6 on the season and an easy choice to scratch.. Stempniak is Even on the season in +/- and among the better Leaf forwards.

These two players should not be mentioned in the same sentence.

I'm guessing these two were picked as it would have the greatest impact on the rest of the team.

Lack of production, lack of defensive play, and bad giveaways, makes them easily mentioned in the same sentence. Stemps is working hard, but is doing just as many bad things as Blake is.

Agreed. If everyone played as hard as Stemps did, we wouldn't have lost every game so far. Like I said, he's not getting results yet, but when you play as hard as he has, they will come. Blake needs to go, send him down, call him up, hope someone takes him. He's just going through the motions now, he's a selfish player and he's not good enough to do things by himself anymore.

Stemps has been our hardest working forward. Sooner or later he'll get some bounces going in his favour..

I really don't think you can showcase Blake unless the plan is showcase, waive, recall.

...package. I am the last guy to speculate anything; but if it were to showcase him then he'd have to be part of package going the other way for atleast a bag of pucks or some broken water bottles.

Yeah, his days of being showcased are long passed.

Blake is minus 6, Stemp is even on plus minus, you are incorrect

He looks to be working harder than last year, but the results unfortunately are the same.

Maybe they should try:

Kulemin-Bozak-Stempniak

Two workers and a talent.

For the love of God tell me you're joking.

Next game, pay attention to how many times Finger coughs up the puck in our zone. The only reason he hasn't clearly been the worst is because Schenn, Beauche and Komi are in complete shambles out there.

Gotta love +/- cause it definitely tells you exactly what is happening and the situations players are playing in. Only stat you can actually use to measure how a player is playing.

Mayers should play in the first line. Being the number one center of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

I'm not a fan of Finger but he has played very well IMO.

Hopefully this lights a fire under their *****.

Poni-Bozak-Stalberg? Or is Poni too slow for that line. I wouldn't mind that one.

Or go all speed with Kulemin-Bozak-Stalberg.

Finger should play behind the first line.

Komisarek or beauchemin should be scratched. Hard.

But isn't working hard the key to all this? Our team sucks, period.. at least the guys working hard shouldn't be punished.. if you're skating, creating and trying your hardest.. you're bound to make a mistake here and there.. give the guy some credit!

People expect too much of him because of his ridiculous contract. He's been fine for his role. He is the least of the team's worries if you ask me.
