Personally, I want them to get no recognition. I want them to be continually ignored (as they have been) by the NHL Network. Let them use that to their advantage.

Fly under the radar basically. Thais what I prefer as well. Not only that, less pressure. Some tend to crumble under media hype and scrutiny.
So far there are only a handful of games to rank, and of that handful, few teams have been better or won more than the Kings.
Enjoy it as long as it lasts. Its an ongoing thing and its also not as if there is some definitive cut off for when these things start to matter in the season. Unless you just count final standings.
These rankings sure mean more than the preseason ones. They are actually based on hockey played on the ice and not on a roster sheet. Actually, the only reason to be cynical about these rankings in the first place is to look more at last season and roster sheets than at the 5 or 6 games teams have played!
Power Rankings are based off the last week guys, that's it. We've had a good week, it doesn't mean ESPN suddenly thinks we are going to be 3rd in the league at the end of the season.

I would say that it's based on the season up to that date, not just the week preceeding the rankings. If the #1 team in the rankings goes 0-3 one week, they aren't going to fall to the bottom. Likewise if team #30 goes 3-0 in a given week, they aren't going to rocket to the top.
Obviuosly there will be more frequent and drastic movements in the first few weeks of the season due to the limited amount of data being considered.

True, although more recent weeks have a bigger impact than the older ones, I think. This is all really moot though, since it has only been a week and half so yes, these rankings are just for the last week and half.
Personally, I love it. I love seeing the Kings on the first page of these things, let alone #3.

I certainly wouldn't rank the Flames above the Kings, not after last night's horrendous display. 6-5? After being up 5-0? Who do they think they are, Dallas?
That's solid. Being a Kings fan (2nd favourite team) for about 3 years, it's good to see them starting off solid and looking like they're getting onto the right track...the future is bright.

These rankings were posted before last night's horrendous display
