Ahhh, the main board. A random fan (not even an NJD one) rips Luongo for letting in 5 on 19 and their first response is............

wait for it......

................................

"yeah well Brodeur has let in 4."

Unreal.

Wow Toronto....

When Marc Staal and Del Zotto are able to score on you, you have to be bad. Good for them D-manz.

Huh? That was Del Zotto's 3rd goal of the season. For me, he's quickly becoming a likable NYR player, which in it of itself is something of a rarity. (although that can change pretty quickly)

Actually, Del Zotto might be moron Sather's best draft pick since the Carter administration. I guess he wasn't indulging in cheap booze and cheap cigars in his tumbledown, ramshackle grass hut in Bermuda, Barbados or Bahamas or wherever he spends his summer during that draft.

Conversely, Staal only seems to score on Brodeur & Lundqvist and was a waste of a high draft pick. Since he's already a draft bust, the NYR will only redeem themselves if they don't pay him the $7 million (just because of his pedigree last name) he will demand to retain his services.

Caps fans throwing hats on the ice after OV scores in the shootout (and had two in regulation).

in one of my fantasy leagues, a Rangers fan has stacked his team with Rangers. call him an idiot if youd like, but why did i have to face him THIS week when they played TORONTO of all ****ing teams twice?

take away the points he earned playing those bums and maybe i wouldve had a chance

Why? It's kind of like a de facto hat trick on a Saturday night. They've been waiting for almost 36+ years for something to happen and all they have to show for it is one Stanley Cup Finals loss.

Same thing would happen if Ovechkin played for the NJD.

I can assure you that if Parise scored two in regulation and then scored in the shootout, no one in the rock would throw hats on the ice...

Embarrassing...

I totally disagree and seeing how Parise has become our most beloved player, I see it happening if that same scenario were to unfold.

And that's not embarrassing either.

For me, embarrassing is chanting "Hen-rik...Hen-rik...Hen-rik" after the most routine and mundane of saves, not to mention chanting, "Mar-tin...Mar-tin..." after the score is only 1-0 in a close game. The established principle would be to do that after he gives up his 5 or 6th goal in a rout of a game. Not a close 1 goal game.

But then again, we're talking about NYR fans and their jealousy of Martin Brodeur and the superiority (still) of the NJD franchise.

You see Kyle, I want you to write a term paper (with footnotes/Chicago style, quoting me) about this stupid phenomenon and how it has turned from fun fan taunting of a goalie having a bad night into the chanting of the name of any/every goaltender just for the sake him giving up one goal, either a good one or a softie.

There is no more differential. It's been watered down, dumbed-down and ruined.

Thanks NYR fans, you jerks!

I was listening to NHL Home Ice the other day and some NYR fan called up and said that Devils fans were chanting "Hen-rik" when we played them. He was upset by this because according to him, NYR fans have been chanting "Marty" since the beginning of time and he wanted Devils fans to be more original.

****in idiots. Like we talked about yesterday, the running Henrik whining is hilarious as well. It's all fun and games until it happens to their players, then whining ensues...

Chanting HEN-RIK!! at the 8-5 game last season was extremely entertaining...

Interesting. Did Devils fans do it during Game 2 this year? If they did, I'm sure it's not as blatant as the other way around.

But if it was during his gutless 8-5 performance last December, than it was justified and proper. Most importantly, it was fun.

THAT was the time to actually do it.

The Duncan-Oshie-Toews line at UND was absolutely unstoppable.

Duncan should have to chop his Hobey in half and send Toews and Yosh each a piece.

I'm pretty sure Rags fans started chanting Henrik when he made a routine save/we shot 10 feet wide of the net. The guy probably thought it was Devils fans mocking him, when it was his own ******** fans. Oh, and he was referring to the game earlier this season.
