I would pay money to see Shane Doan land a devastating - but legal - hit on The Puke.

Thanks for reminding me that only the George Carlin's and Andrew Dice Clay's in the world would find my comedy funny and those 2 comedians are far more extreme than me.

Remember, I'm from NY! I'm known to release the stereotype from time to time!

I am fairly new to the Coyotes pack. What is the whole animosity to Wheeler. I know he was a draft pick but kinda at a loss on why everyone hates him so. I would like to know so I can have a reason to scream obscenities to the TV (I work till 7 in Tucson and cant make it to the game in person). Thanks and

Go Coyotes

He used a loophole in the CBA to become a free agent rather than sign with Phoenix. In other words, he made the right choice.

Out of the nutshell, though, he was ranked as a late first/early second in his draft year. The Coyotes shocked the hockey world by selecting him fifth overall. He took his sweet time developing and the Coyotes were patient. When it came time to sign on the dotted line, though, he opted to take less money to play elsewhere. To fans of the twenty nine other teams he came off as a guy who makes wise choices. To this fanbase, though, he came off as disloyal and ungrateful.

Wheeler was given the max amount allowed by the NHL for an Entry Level Contract and he gave the organization and all of Phoenix the finger by not signing.
Blake Wheeler felt he was too good to play for a place like Phoenix and wanted to play more in a "hockey city" that would accomidate his hockey needs such as playing with Phil Kessel who is now in Toronto!

Thanks RT for the other info I forgot about!

you missed the part where the Coyotes, Coyotes scouts, and Coyote fans were ridiculed by this selection for years. Years of cheap shot after cheap shot about how stupid we were for selecting Wheeler. We (the fans on this board) defended the selection and in hindsight WE WERE RIGHT! Of course, we suffered endless abuse and didn't get a chance to really say WE TOLD YOU SO!

Personally, I spent tons of cash traveling to go see Wheeler play against North Dakota and Wisconsin (against Turris). So yeah, I have a bit of a personal issue with his decision to sign elsewhere as well.

I hope we fixed that loophole, and now I understand. Thanks for the info. Im sure my TV will be hearing it. At least it was before he became another Danny Heatly... to bad we didnt get anything for it in trade.

The loophole's been fixed in the new CBA signed between the NHL and NHLPA in 2005. Wheeler was drafted in 2004, so he was grandfathered in under the old rules where the loophole was still there.

I hate Grandfathers, they are stinky and complain about the old days when dirt was young and virile. But it does give us something to aim for. Wheels make great targets

Korpedo, Porter and Sauer scratched. Hopefully Biz will pound someone and justify his ice time.

Who is the major A hole on the NESN broadcast that has to get a dig into the franchise at every five minutes.

Sadly, this year, we coyotes fans need to grow a thick skin and learn to ignore the stupidity that will be thrown our way.

Lepisto looks good out there. He pulled quite the confident move there.

that would be jack edwards. i apologize

even in the Bruins fanbase, there are mixed feelings when it comes to jack. it's either love or hate him. and that's just among bruins fans, pretty much all non bruins fans can't stand the guy.

the colour analyst is andy brickley. if you can get around the thick boston accent, he's actually one of the better colour commentators in the game, very insightful and knowledgeable.

'Yotes ended up with a pretty good period there. Little shaky to start, but they ended up recovering pretty well.

Is anyone else having a hard time not trying to grab Jack Edwards through your tv and strangling him?

He is awful.
