I disagree, I still think he was one of our better players on the night. I'm worried that Trotz is going to go through one of his detrimental "young player batteries" that we saw with Legwand, Hartnell and even Suter.

Trotz can't bench veterans. They deserve a little leeway... so instead we bench the rookies. So if Erat turns the puck over 12 times a shift, that's ok. He's a vet. He's supposed to know what he's doing. But we'll bench one of the rooks instead.

Some say benching a vet is like trying to teach an old dog new tricks and all that...

Then maybe it's time to put some dogs down. I'll call the Humane Society...

You know, Frolov hasn't been playing all that well for the Kings, and they're sitting him tonight. Maybe Trotz should borrow Terry Murray's notes for a weekend and study.

And in the games I've seen him play, he's been way better than Erat or Legwand...

Wilson definitely did "stand and watch" on consecutive shifts in the third period - once in the neutral zone and once in the defensive zone. Literally standing still, not moving his feet, and admiring the play going on around him. A rookie mistake that I believe he will learn from and not repeat going forward.

As for sending him down, I don't think that is an option right now, nor should it get major consideration at this juncture. Wilson has played in three games and had positive reviews in two of those three. While he has not scored yet, neither has anyone around him really done so either, so it is not an issue necessarily unique to him.

Wilson faces what has to be incredible pressure on Wednesday night heading back to Boston for the first time since helping lead Boston University to the NCAA championship last season. Wilson has shown in the past a knack for excelling under pressure, both in the NCAA and at the WJC, so I'm looking forward to watching him play against the Bruins this week...

Lets not forget also that Wilson was 0 even in his first three games, with 15 goals against us and only 2 for (6 -1, 6 - 0, and 3 -1). Defensively very sound in first 3 games.
Hopefully the "standing still" had nothing to do with his pre-season injury flaring up!
And yes, they could have benched some vets in previous games, but that is not an option......pay

No, it was more a case of "deer in the headlights" than anything else...

Well Trotz said he wanted everyone to skate, and anyone who wasn't skating would be taken out. He did just that.
