Why is Pettersson not playing today?

this is one of the worst swedish teams i've ever seen. so uninspired or maybe lack of talent?

is it possible to change 9-10 forwards and 3-4 defender?

No. I honestly believe the biggest problem is that there are NO centers on this team capable of playing on the level we need them to play.

Of these players, I want to keep:

Pääjärvi
Pettersson
Omark
Andersson
Engqvist
Bergfors
Persson

OEL
Hedman
Gunnarsson
Maybe Lindström and Johansson because they are good leaders.

Everybody else: gtfo. Too bad we really do not have any options. There are no NHL centers or defenders available.

Probably a bit too intense for BÅG's liking. Maybe give Emvall a call.

Or maybe just get Åkerman. I'm sure he "can play" forward as well.

Not too crazy about this team though. Harju I do not like. He is there because he is Omarks best friend, nothing else. Wallin is too slow. Jimmie Ericsson as a winger? Persson, Mårtensson and Weinhandl = euro stars but ineffective when it counts, and should not be selected because they simply do not have the extra gear needed when we face Canadians.
Jimmie has played all year as a winger in Skellefteå.

I would also keep Ericsson, but that's it. Seriously, no Bergfors and no Pettersson. What the hell is BÅG thinking?

Yeah Ericsson did pretty well. Bergfors supposedly has a "lårkaka" so he was sitting out as a precaution.

Weinhandl have sucked, get him and Nylander off the team and replace them with Bergfors and Pettersson who both have played much better with the little time they've got.

I agree. Nylander seems to be finished and even if he has the talent to be there I'm just so bored with Weinhandl's perimeter play these days. Especially after seeing him in the Olympics.

...And no BÅG have made his best contributions to destroy another players career in Bergfors. I am ashamed at how the swedish hockey federation has handled this. Embarrasing.

How has Erik Karlsson been playing? Unfortunately I've missed all of his games...

Played his best game against Switzerland yesterday, haven't looked all that great otherwise and made a bunch of mistakes especially against the Czechs.

Thanks!

Sounds just like how Erik was playing in the NHL this year. Very inconsistant.

One night he is the best player on the ice, leading the rush and making smart offensive plays, all while playing well defensively. And the next day, he is coughing up the puck and not making smart decisions....

Lots of bad luck, really. And don't whine over the timeout. Persson had to rest as well as the czechs. If one lousy forward more had accepted to join Nylander could have been playing with him instead of Pettersson.
